Berroco Yarn Remix Light Yarn is a fantastic wool-free, eco-friendly yarn that consists of 30% superfine nylon, 27% cotton, 24% acrylic, 10% silk and 9% linen all of recycled fibers from garments and other textiles that are leftover. The material is shredded, combined and respun, and the result is a durable yarn with a beautiful, textured, tweed effect.

The yarn has an interesting feeling, and while it's not rough, it has a bit of dryness, like cotton and linen do. You can expect your garment or wearable to soften with wash and wear, and you’ll love the ease in being machine washable!

Watermelon Scotch Stitch Plastic Canvas Mug Rug 🍉

I revealed in my last sneak peek that my plastic canvas project was a mug rug. Did anyone guess watermelon themed?

I combined my favorite stitch, the alternating scotch stitch, with a sweet little Smyrna Cross Stitch in the center for the seeds, but I also have a chart for a seedless watermelon included.

I received a lot of questions asking what a mug rug was and why my "coaster" was so long. A mug rug is like a coaster, but larger. It's big enough to fit your drink and a snack at the same time.

Frogging Joined Granny Squares 💙

Now that we've completed our tutorial of How to Crochet Squares Together Using the Continuous Join and Pull Loop Through Method, I'm frogging this square so I can get to joining the 99 squares I crocheted into a blanket.

After I get all of my crocheted squares joined together, I will pop back in to show how to add additional rounds to your border.

With just a little bit of cotton yarn and some shelf liner, you can whip up some helpful jar openers in as little as ten minutes! This pattern is incredibly beginner-friendly, using only single crochet.

Jar openers are great for opening up fruity jam and jelly! They make great housewarming and hostess gifts, stocking stuffers, and market makes.

How to Crochet Squares Together Using the Continuous Join and Pull Loop Through Method - Part 5

We finished off in the same place as where we started, just on the second row.

✨️ SC = US Single Crochet

✨️ PLT = Pull Loop Through

💙 SC up the side of the square, (SC, chain 2, SC in the next chain space, SC across the top of the square, (SC, chain 2, SC) into the next chain space, SC down the side of the square.

💙 SC into the chain space, SC into the top center of the join, SC into the chain space of the next square. PLT.

💙 Continue to SC in the current square and PLT across ending with 1 SC in the next chain space. PLT.

💙 Chain 1. Flip the fabric over so the back is facing up. SC into the chain space of the previous square, then flip the fabric back over so the front of the fabric is facing again.

💙 SC into the chain space of the current square to complete the corner, then SC across the top of the square.

✨️ If you need to add more squares, continue the same process across to the end of the row.

✨️ If you are on the last square: after SC into the left corner chain space of the last square, chain 2, SC into the same chain space.

💙 SC across the current square over to the chain space, where you'll work your corner as normal, then proceed to SC down the final side, working in the join as you've previously done.

💙 After working your last corner, slip stitch join to the first SC of the round.

✨️ You can fasten off now and weave in your ends, or continue adding more rounds to the border.
