This is a monthly meetup for book lovers where you can bring any book you’d like and get a full hour of reading in—there’s no selected group book, and chit chat is not required! Pick your size, vegan leather color, elastic color, eyelet hardware color, and charms to make a trifold journal cover that is uniquely yours!

WHAT’S A JOURNAL COVER?

Journal covers are leather, vegan leather, or fabric covers with elastic bands that can hold multiple notebook inserts. They help keep your thoughts, to-dos, ideas, and more all in one place.

The inserts can easily be switched out when they get full or when your needs change, but your journal cover can stay a staple of your days for years to come.

We are not providing notebooks or inserts themselves, just supplies to make the covers. If you’re making your cover to suit a specific notebook, we recommend you bring it to ensure a perfect fit!

WHAT’S INVOLVED?

At the workshop, you’ll be provided all necessary supplies, including vegan leather, a template in your chosen size, grommets, elastic, and lots of charms to choose from.

The process will be fairly simple, and it’s a great activity for anyone of any age or skill level!

Again, we aren’t providing notebooks themselves—this workshop is to DIY the covers!

COLORS AND SIZES

Refer to the photos below to understand the available colors and sizes. You can pick your size at the workshop, but to buy tickets, you’ll need to pick your color today. The solid colors are available at the base rate of $45, but for an extra $5, you’ll be able to select a gorgeous distressed color. If you don’t select a color at all, we’ll surprise ya!

Every weekend, we are having sales! Fridays, YA is BOGO! Saturdays, all children’s books are TOTALLY FREE! Sundays, all used books are buy 4, get 1 free!

And when kids’ books aren’t free every Saturdays, they’re $1 every other day! That’s right—picture books and middle grade (books for ages ~6-12 years) which ranged from $2-$6 are now ALL $1!

We recently received a negative review for our store not being alphabetized or “organized in anyway” lol. This is stated on our website, but we occasionally get asked, so I thought I’d share why we don’t!

1. We get new books in weekly, and it is already a challenge finding room for all of them in each section. Sometimes we have a small gap that only a certain book fits. Sometimes I have to move an author with 7 books up or down our shelves to fit out other books. With how often we already have to rearrange, it would make shifting all of our books a complete nightmare, and I’d rather spend that time working on more important things.

2. I like having control of displaying certain books/series at the top of our bookcases or facing them out. Especially for popular books and new releases, I don’t want them getting lost at the bottom of our shelves.

3. All of our bookcases are labeled with the genre at the top, and within each section books are grouped by subgenre. In our Romance section our bookcases start out Contemporary, move into Rom-Coms, and then to Dark Romance. We have Cowboy books together, Sports books together, Q***r books together, etc. This makes it easier for me to tell parents with young teens trying to shop in that section that the last bookcase and a half has much more adult content, and also give quick recommendations to customers if they liked a certain book that they will find more similar ones right around that author.

4. We have expanded three times, adding new genres and more within each section, and we most likely will have to in the near future. Again, the time it would take to keep everything alphabetical would be overly time consuming.

Our sections are small, and don’t take much time to peruse, but we are always happy to explain our organization and help you find what you’re looking for!😊📚

This month, we’re making super adorable felt pennant flags! Hot glue or sew felt letters and shapes onto the classic triangular college-style felt pennant flags, or draw your letters with paint pens! Make as many as you’d like. If you make flags, it’ll be $10 per person!
