We are writing to share an update about the status of our spring show, Anything Goes. Over the past few months, we have been holding on to the possibility of reviving our production sometime this spring or in the summer. Unfortunately, the guidelines set forth by the state and our first priority to keep our students, staff, and community safe do not provide a clear timeline for making the production a reality. Therefore, we are officially canceling our shows and are providing information about refunds below.
Anything Goes was set to entertain audiences across our community and we applaud our students who worked incredibly hard to put these performances together. We are heartbroken to have to close the curtain on these productions. We are heartbroken for our seniors who will miss out on getting to perform for you one last time. We are heartbroken that audiences won’t get to see the payoff of the hard work, time, and dedication that all cast and crew members have put into these performances.
We would like to facilitate a smooth process for our patrons to receive refunds if they so choose. Please review and choose from one of the options below:
Option 1: Donate your ticket purchase to the MHS/MMS theatre programs
We are self-funded school programs, and our source of funding is ticket sales - we rely on ticket sales to help cover costs, not only for our current production but also to help put us into position for next year’s show. With the prospect of losing ticket sales for this year, we are also facing the prospect of losing the ability to put on high-caliber shows next year and beyond as well. If you would like to donate your ticket purchase to our programs, no action on your part is needed, and we thank you for helping us to keep our programs running for future years.
Option 2: Get a refund through Brown Paper Tickets
If you prefer a full refund, please contact [email protected] within 2 weeks. Be sure to include your confirmation number. Please note that Brown Paper Tickets' refund processing is significantly delayed; however, all refund requests will be honored in full. See their COVID-19 response and sign up for updates at https://covid-recovery.brownpapertickets.org.
Option 3: Get a refund on your cash/check purchase (available for Anything Goes tickets only)
If you purchased tickets to Anything Goes by either cash or check and would like a refund, please reach out to Jenny Kealey at [email protected] to request the return of your cash or check (checks have not been deposited yet). Please make every effort to make your decision by Friday, June 26th, or we will assume that you are donating your ticket purchase to the program, but of course, these funds are always available.
We are so sorry to put you in this position just as we are so sorry to have not been able to provide a great night of theater to you. We look forward to seeing you at our auditorium soon!
It’s no secret the events business was hit hard by the COVID-19 crisis. The need for physical distancing led to a tsunami of event changes, postponements, and, ultimately, cancellations.
