A very special beer release tomorrow: THE WESTERN PILSNER!
Half Brothers Brewing Company has teamed up with the North Dakota Museum of Art in a collaborative fundraiser called "The Permanent Collection Series"! In this series, the Museum provides Half Brothers with an image from their Permanent Collection, as well as title and artist biography. Half Brothers creates a beer based on this information and uses the image as the label. The first beer in the series is the Western Pilsner, an easy-drinking beer based on the painting "Plum Fine: Sweetheart of the Rodeo" by Minot-based artist Walter Piehl. The Museum will receive 30% of all sales of Western Pilsner.

The Capital Gallery West Opens in Medora May 30th
The Capital Gallery West, presented by Starion Bank, opens Saturday, May 30 in the Harold Schafer Heritage Center on 4th Street in downtown Medora.
A partnership between The Capital Gallery, Bismarck, and the Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation, the gallery returns for its second summer season in historic Medora, with remodeled space, featuring outstanding Western Americana artists.
Open 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. seven days a week, the gallery offers a gift shop with unique selections, in addition to the fine art on display.
Visitors to the Harold Schafer Heritage Center will find a museum devoted to the story of North Dakota’s most famous entrepreneur, who founded The Gold Seal Company in 1942 and became a beloved proponent of Medora and North Dakota. “Mr. Bubble,” a feature film on Harold and Sheila Schafer, is shown daily in the Center, and was produced by The Capital Gallery’s nonprofit foundation.

The Capital Gallery West Opens in Medora
North Dakota’s newest fine art gallery opened May 31 in historic Medora with The Capital Gallery West, located in the Harold Schafer Heritage Center. Presented by Starion Bank and a cooperative endeavor between The Capital Gallery, Bismarck and the Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation, the gallery is open seven days a week from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. along with evening hours during special events.
Artists in residence will be demonstrating in the nearby Von Hoffman House throughout the summer, including Kaye Burian, Walter Piehl, Kira Fercho, Ellen Diederich, Terry Jelsing and more. Hours at the Von Hoffman House are noon to 5:00 p.m. every day.
“We are excited to bring our stable of artists from across the region into Medora this summer,” says David Borlaug, director of The Capital Gallery and president of the nonprofit foundation that owns and operates it. “Starion Bank has been one of our most steadfast supporters and we’re pleased to have them support this exciting addition to Medora’s world-class attractions.”
