Simple and sweet. They are finished! Big thanks to my husband for helping with the framing! 💕 I really enjoyed working with the traditional lines in these panels. They are framed in zinc channel for stability, and oak U channel for the finished built-in look while still being free-hanging.

Slow progress is still progress! I cut and soldered the zinc channel for these panels today. The next step is patina, and then I plan to frame them in oak. 😊

Gosh, it’s been over a year again. We are in a very full and busy chapter of our lives, and with a recent move added in it has been a while since I’ve gotten to work with glass. (Moving with hundreds of sheets of glass, is not recommeded btw 🙃)

My husband set up a new workspace for me recently, and I’ve been trying to carve out some time each day to get back at it. Today I finished these 2 panels for our front windows! The sun isn’t out, but they definitely bring some color into the room. It felt good to get that soldering iron out again!

My houseplant collection has grown again over the past 6 months. I now have around 60, including my first few orchids! 🪴

Orchids are new to me with their unique care, and I’m still learning out how to keep them happy and blooming. They of course inspired this glass orchid, and even sacrificed a single bloom so I could create an accurate flower pattern. This piece is made from hand cut white and green glass, and copper wire for the stem and aerial roots.

I love blue glass. 😍 So creating this piece for some awesome neighbors and getting to delve into my collection of blues ...

Hi all! It’s been a while. Life happened and I had to set glass aside for the past year or so. I’m finally finding time to be creative again and am so excited to get back to it.

I wanted to share the first panel I’ve completed since returning my workshop. This piece is heavy! Some of the glass is very dark and textured which makes an stark change in the colors when moved from filtered to reflective light. I’ll add some photos of the panel at earlier stages towards the end.

This was one of the first stained glass panels I designed and made on my own, several years ago. Painting and drawing had been my creative outlets prior to glass, and I was trying to mimic the shapes, shading, and shadows by using multiple textures and lots of unnecessary break lines. 😄 I still love this piece and the growth and experience it gave to me.

Great Blue Heron

These birds are special in our family, a nostalgic reminder of my Grandpa Bruce who was an ornithologist and lovely person. We will forever point and exclaim “Great Blue Heron!” when we see one fly over in its familiar S shape, or if we see its silhouette standing elegant and tall in marshy waters.

I loved every part of creating this piece, from drawing up the pattern to selecting and cutting the glass, to the soldering and framing. 💙

Meet Montana!
Such a handsome boy, he was a great model for this stained glass pet portrait. This piece was made with very textured and streaky glass and even some black glass that is completely opaque. For that reason this pup is meant to be displayed in a reflective setting. I did include a photo of him in a window, and you can see how not much light passes through. Good boy. 🐾
