VETERANS ACRYLIC & MIXED MEDIA ART WORKSHOP
Create. Connect. Restore.
Veterans are invited to explore acrylic painting and mixed media art in a relaxed, supportive environment with instructor Joanne Scofield.
BEGINNER-FRIENDLY • FREE • ALL SUPPLIES INCLUDED
Using principles inspired by art therapy, participants will explore creativity as a tool for:
Creative self-expression
Stress reduction and relaxation
Mindfulness and personal reflection
Connection with fellow veterans
Supporting emotional well-being
Joanne will introduce participants to a variety of creative mediums and techniques, including:
Acrylic painting
Collage
Simple watercolor
Line drawing
Pastels
Brushwork and color mixing
Blending, layering and texture
Basic composition
Participants will have the freedom to experiment, explore and create meaningful artwork at their own pace. No artistic experience or special ability is required.

INSTRUCTOR: JOANNE SCOFIELD
Joanne is a certified art teacher with a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art from Rutgers University and a master’s degree in Art Therapy and Creativity Development from Pratt Institute. She has extensive experience developing community art programs and leading workshops that use creative expression to support stress reduction, personal growth, connection and overall well-being.
This is a supportive art class and is not a substitute for professional mental health treatment.
