UPDATED - Coronavirus and our upcoming shows - 3/12/20:
There's been widespread rumors over the Corona Virus. We take the health and safety of our patrons and community very seriously. We wanted to make sure that people understood the current situation via the Oregon State and Jackson County Health Authority. These facts are straight from the health authority:
The consensus from regional and state public health officials is that as of today in Jackson County, COVID-19 is not severe or widespread enough to implement preventative business closures, but they have suggested postponing events of 250 people or more. These officials suggest – for individuals who are well – to follow healthy habits - as we all should be doing daily anyway.
Jackson County -
There are no new cases in Jackson County. There are two cases that were the original Jackson County cases and no more. These patients are ages 55 and 74, from one household, and did not require hospitalization. The cases are travel-related. Jackson County Health identified and communicated with all known contacts of the cases, and all people under monitoring are cooperative and following guidance.
One case in Klamath County. According to Klamath County Health there is no identified risk to the greater community and no known community spread; there is no known contact in public areas.
Our thoughts and well wishes are with the individuals who have been diagnosed.
WHAT ARE WE DOING TO HELP KEEP YOU SAFE?
We will continue emphasizing the importance of hand washing for at least 20 seconds, and hope you will do the same at home. Public health authorities believe hand washing is one of the most effective ways to prevent the spread of coronaviruses, including COVID-19. We have cleaned and disinfected surfaces at our location and continue to do so even during events. For the upcoming drag shows, tips will be collected by individuals holding buckets to reduce direct contact.
The other consistent reminder from health authorities is to stay home if you or someone in your home is sick, only returning to work or social environments when fever-free for 24 hours. If you are concerned about symptoms, please consult with a doctor.
BUT OSF CANCELLED SHOWS. WHY? As mentioned, the state of Oregon recommended that events of 250 people or more be postponed. The Randall holds 99. We have paid attention to the local, state and federal guidelines as far as precautions for the virus. If you wish to stay home, please do so. Just know that we are doing all we can to make sure we are keeping everything we can safe at the location.
