Our fantastic Atlee High School Orchestra Boosters will be at Open House from 2-6 pm! This is the perfect time to join the Boosters and help support the many things they do for our program. You can get a travel mug or drawstring bag with membership! And there will be concert and trip info for you to check out!
Make sure you stop by our classroom afterwards to say hi to Ms. Vann! ☺️

Thank you so much to those who purchased items from our Amazon wishlist! These supplies will help us create music in tune, in time, and with no stuck endpins! Every school instrument will have a name tag, and the portable Bluetooth speaker will help play recordings and judges' feedback from different events!

We wrapped up our concert season on Tuesday with a fun mix of small group and fuller string orchestra pieces! "From the Start", we enjoyed preparing for this program! We started with a Wave to Earth, and ended in the Swamp! Our program took us to "Spain", Argentina (though it "bugged" us...), Brazil/Iceland (Laufey, anyone?), New Jersey (we couldn't "take our eyes" off of it), "La La Land", and the depths of the sea! Seniors took a walk down memory lane with their Class of 2026 Senior Medley as well. Mrs. Vann's 101-degree fever was cured by the only prescription...more cowbell! Wee-ooh...I mean, we, hope you enjoyed it!
P.S., you had to be there to understand all of this! In all seriousness, thank you, students, for an incredible time on Tuesday night! Congratulations to award and scholarship winners, special guests, and ALL of you in our program reading this! You are amazing! Seniors, we will miss you so much!! The Senior Medley is complete! Every year, seniors in orchestra get to choose sections of music from their middle and high school concerts, and combine them into a medley with Mrs. Vann's guidance. This year, selections from nine pieces were chosen, and rehearsal (aka, a walk down memory lane) will commence this week! You won't want to miss this special performance on Tuesday, May 19th at 7 pm in our auditorium!!

We had an amazing time at Busch Gardens on Friday! Atlee Orchestra earned a Superior rating at the Music Showcase Festival and earned 2nd place overall! We had a fun coaching session with Dr. Ilyes from Longwood University afterwards! Members of our group were honored to volunteer our time for last week's Spirit of Volunteerism Awards! For the first time ever, students were in the pit providing music as winners walked onstage to receive their awards! What fun it was to play a mix of "1960's through today" pop music, as well as classic rock and movie themes! A "Golden" opportunity indeed!
We also had a blast meeting Rebecca Wilde from Mix981Richmond ! She gave us a radio shout-out the next morning!
