It’s time to open up the gates! ❄️

Auditions for are approaching and here are some key dates to keep in mind. All current CVHS students are WELCOME and ENCOURAGED to audition. Check the Schoology group for complete audition information — see Mrs. Schramm in the orchestra room at either CV9 or the HS for the access code. We can’t wait to see you all in Arendelle!

It’s almost back to school time and there’s plenty of theatre to see in the area! Grab some friends and go support the local theatre scene!

Many theaters offer student discounts with a valid ID.

✈️ COME FROM AWAY at Theatre Harrisburg - The true story of the planes grounded in Gander, Newfoundland on September 11th, 2001, receiving its Harrisburg premiere!

👯 A CHORUS LINE: TEEN EDITION at Hershey Area Playhouse - The 1975 award winning musical about what it takes to make it in show business is back with a cast full of area teens!

✍️ HAROLD AND MAUDE at Open Stage - A heart warming play about an unexpected bond between a young man and a not so young woman.

As always, check with your parents about show content before purchasing a ticket. Whatever you see, know that you are supporting local, live theatre!

We are heartbroken to share the passing of Anna Louizos, a prolific scenic designer and more importantly, a member of our CV Musical family. Ms. Louizos was a 3-time Tony Award nominated scenic designer whose work included the original Broadway productions of AVENUE Q (2004), IN THE HEIGHTS (2008), and SCHOOL OF ROCK (2015), as well as countless national touring, regional, and international credits.

Ms. Louizos entered the CV Musical family in 2020 when our team contacted her about remounting her Broadway design for our production of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s CINDERELLA (2013). She was warm, generous, and humbled by our students offstage and on to have an opportunity to work with and perform on her set.

This past year, Ms. Louizos once again collaborated with CV Musical as we remounted her design for MAMMA MIA! This design was previously featured in a 2019 production at the Bucks County Playhouse and reimagined for the CV stage, with Ms. Louizos once again providing her blessing and constant guidance.

She is survived by her wife, Robyn, and countless loved ones. Thank you for sharing your artistry with us, Anna. You will always be a member of our CV Musical family.

Next spring, Cumberland Valley High School Musical Productions is freezing over with FROZEN! Based on the 2013 Academy Award-winning animated film, FROZEN follows the story of royal sisters Elsa and Anna, who are torn apart by Elsa’s icy magical powers. When Elsa accidentally casts the Kingdom of Arendelle into an eternal winter, Anna journeys into the unknown to save her sister and their home. This thrilling spectacle features all of the songs you know and love, including “Do You Want to Build a Snowman,” “Love is an Open Door,” and “Let It Go”! FROZEN is a heartwarming tale for the whole family that reminds us all the power of true love – and that “some people are worth melting for.”

From an enchanted castle to the SS American to the Kingdom of Duloc to a beautiful Greek island, the Class of 2026 has made their profound mark on CV Musical. ❤️

We wish each and every graduating senior today a hearty congratulations and well wishes as you begin the next chapter. It’s just the end of an act, not the musical itself.
