This school year was full of firsts, growth, and so many unforgettable moments for our theatre program.

From our first competition season (winning three awards and scoring an Excellent rating) , to solving mysteries in Clue, to bringing Hadestown: Teen Edition to life, this year pushed us creatively in the best ways. We launched our first Technical Theatre class, officially established and inducted members into our International Thespian Society troupe, and had the opportunity to learn about jobs in theatre and tour the stage with our trip to the Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts and our small trip to see The Outsiders at DPAC.

We closed the year with our staged reading of A Midsummer Night’s Dream with a group of students who continuously showed creativity, and heart. And not too mention tackling Shakespeare!

Congratulations to our Class of 2026 theatre graduates whether you were on stage for one show, two and/or backstage! You helped build this program and we all love you dearly 💙🧡

Thank you for your leadership, talent, and the impact you have left on this program. We cannot wait to see what you do next. So proud of everything these students accomplished this year and excited to see where this program goes next. 🎭

Lights, camera, action! 🎬
We officially started a Film Club at Southeast and have already begun filming a student directed and student written film by Sania Holland!

We cannot wait to continue working on this project, create even more films next year, and hopefully enter some competitions along the way.

A huge thank you to the students who asked for this club and helped build it with us from the ground up. Watching your creativity, leadership, and passion come to life has been so exciting. We are so proud of all of you and can’t wait to see where this program goes next! 🎥✨

Dreams, mischief, and a little Shakespeare magic ✨

Our Intermediate/Accomplished Theatre class is taking on “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” with a staged reading this Friday Night (5/15/26) at 6:00 pm!

While scripts are still in hand, these students have worked so hard and already know so much of the show and have taking on the challenges of Shakespeare head on.

Watching them bring these characters to life has been so much fun, and we are excited to share their work with you. 🌙💜
