The goal of The Book House is to promote and encourage reading on the Allegheny Campus and in Meadville. The man who never reads lives only one.”`
- George R.R. Martin
The Book House is a Special Interest House at Allegheny College. It is a place for book lovers to have a community for discussion, reading, writing, and enjoying books beyond their required academic materials. The goal of the Book
House is to promote and encourage reading on the Allegheny Campus and in the Meadville area. We welcome those who were disciplined in elementary school for reading under the desk! We love those who lose hours of sleep, deeply immersed in a novel! We desire those who dreamed of living like hardcover hermits, undetected in a library when they grew up! But mostly, we welcome those who have never experienced these feelings because we can help you! We want to bring people together around a love for literature. We are centered around a literary theme but frequently host events of all kinds as to welcome all students into our home. We spend time volunteering in the community and frequently collaborate with other Allegheny organizations. EXEC BOARD 2017-2018
