There hasn’t been much sewing or quilting going on in the studio due to the remodeling that is going on, and on, and on…. However I’ve been working on this quilt. It’s quite a process to get to the stitching. first I have to trace the design on my background fabric. Then I color the design using prismacolor colored pencils, then I set the coloring with Jacquard Textile medium, let it dry and then I heat set everything. All before I can start stitching.

We interrupt your sewing for a major remodeling. It’s a mess around here but it’s going to be amazing when it’s done. New floors throughout the house, a new updated remodeled kitchen and lots of cabinets, widened doorways, a new master bath with walk in shower, and a huge master closet!

My Nauticus fabric blocks are starting to take shape. A few days ago I showed you the nine patch blocks completed. Now is when the magic happens. Those nine patch blocks turned into these X-Citing BasiX blocks with the help of the BasiX template and rotary cutter. Now I can’t wait to really start putting things together.
