Enjoyed last evening in Lyons with the Piecemaker Quilt Guild! It was a smaller but mighty group - these gals are busy with several projects! I even took my (almost) famous quilt model along - perhaps you'll recognize the fingers!
Of course Karen went with me too as she knows all the people!
It was good to catch up with so many! Thanks for the fun evening - hope you have a SCRAPTASTIC year!!!

Quilts packed and ready to load! A large rolly tote and two jumbo suitcases! I'd hate to think of the fees involved if I flew. These will need to be buddy lifted into the vehicle!

Headed to Lyons this evening to share my SCRAPTASTIC TRUNK SHOW! Excited to be back in my hometown to see everyone!

7pm at the Methodist Church! You know I'm grabbing a DQ ice cream before or after!

I had a fabulous evening with the people at End of the Trail Quilt Guild in Abilene as I presented my SCRAPTASTIC trunk show! Everything about the evening was just great! I had an elevated perch to speak from in which people could see, the sound system was great, my holders, folders and models rocked the stage and I even had quilts folded by the most qualified person... A well known quilt judge! 🙂 Thanks Donna!
The crowd was fabulous and I hope they were inspired to dig out some fabric and just get to stitching as they play and create!

Anita Phye sent these pictures to me! She attended my jacket presentation at the Silver Needles Quilt Guild. She snagged one of my Kanthas that I marked down. I had a few that had been with me for awhile and I decided it was time to move them. This is one of the ones people passed up several times and let me tell you - she placed the prints phenomenally!! Awesome job! Love to see the creativity shine!

I had a beautiful Tuesday evening in Wamego! The Wamego Kaw Valley Quilt Guild was absolutely fabulous and of course excited about JACKETS! They will be ready for fall in their new wardrobe creations! I can't wait to go back and do a workshop!!

The best part, my dear friend Gerlene wanted me to go speak even though I was pulled between her in her final hours and following through on a commitment. Guild members helped me unload and load and I was in and out rather quickly, but still had a great show. I had my little grand with me and Ro's other Grandma also known as my Grandma in Crime - picked him up for a bit. I rushed back to the hospital, they brought in a second recliner and I pulled what I hope is my last all nighter as I'm feeling my age.. Gerlene passed away Wednesday morning right after a fresh rain as the vibrant clouds opened up. She was one of my greatest supporters in this quilty adventure! I'm sure going to miss doing hand work as I chat with her!

Cheri Hanschu will present a program at the End Of The Trail Quilters Guild on Scraptastic Quilts.

The program at the End Of The Trail Quilters Guild on August 25 will be presented by Cheri Hanschu from McPherson. The guild is inviting people who have an interest in quilting to attend. The meeting will be held at the Abilene First United Methodist Church, 601 N. Cedar, at 7:00 p.m.

Cheri has been quilting more years than she would like to admit and buying more fabric than she would like to reveal. With her years of experience and passion for quilting, she has developed a quick storage method, speedy cutting techniques and simple methods for the quilter with a large stash or a newbie with little left over pieces. Her presentation will inspire and also teach a few quick techniques for quilters to add to their arsenals.

The End Of The Trail Quilters Guild meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month in Wright Hall at the First United Methodist Church in Abilene. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in the art of quilt making.

Trim..Trim... Trim for beautiful quilts! Working on slight improv and precision!! What an oxymoron!

Getting late and getting silly! I got new glasses and over a day later Kris didn't notice. The joke around the house is he knows when I bring a fat quarter into the house, so my friend decided to decorate me and see if he noticed! He did... He noticed the fabric on my head. Finally... It's like just LOOK AT MY EYES! !

Look at this lovely bag! It was a three night ordeal and we took breaks to send my machine to the shop and to get supplies! The bag is designed for my quilts on noodles, but watch out - I may have an additional Vanna at my trunk shows!
