The McMinnville Scottish Festival is an event held in McMinnville, Oregon, as a way of celebrating Scottish and Celtic culture, especially that of the Scottish Highlands. Certain aspects of the games are so well known as to have become emblematic of Scotland, such as the bagpipes, the kilt, and the heavy events, especially the caber toss. While centered on competitions in Scottish heavy athletics, piping and drumming, the games also include scotch tasting, craft beverages, dancing, entertainment and exhibits related to other aspects of Scottish and Gaelic culture.

Next up at the 2026 McMinnville Scottish Festival we want to introduce 💥Titan💥 Dee McGillivray! Dee has a long history of lifting heavy things – she was an Olympic Weightlifter for 15 years and is a 2x Masters World Champion currently holding 19 records - state, regional and national combined. Dee also spent 6 years on the rugby field for the USA 15s and 7s, and with the GRID League as a Strength Specialist for the Miami Surge and the Wild!!

Dee has been competing in Highland Games for 3 years, and when she isn’t doing that, she’s working as a National Board-Certified High School Weight Training Teacher and Personal Trainer. Her favorite event is Hammers, and she currently holds the Masters Heavy Hammer World Record at 86’2.5”

The McMinnville Scottish Festival is happy to again host our Pipe Band Competition, as well as the Solo Pipe and Drum Competition on Oct 3rd and 4th at the Yamhill County Fairgrounds! McMinnville Scottish Festival is proud to bring the Scottish Highland Dance Competition back for a sixth year! Registration for the 2026 dance competition is NOW OPEN! The competition will take place at our 2026 McMinnville Scottish Festival on October 3rd and 4th at the Yamhill County Fairgrounds in McMinnville, Oregon. This event will feature Premier and Pre-Premier Highland dances, Premier and Pre-Premier National dances and Choreography for Pre-Premier & Premier dancers! 🥁🥁🥁Let's welcome our first 💥Titan💥 athlete joining us at the 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿2026 McMinnville Scottish Festival🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 - Carrie Johnson!!

Carrie enters her 6th full season of Highland Games competition after having finished 3rd at the 2025 Masters World Championships in the 40-44 class. At Pleasanton she won the A/Open class in 2023, and finished 2nd in the Masters 40-49 class in 2025. She gets most hyped for the WFDs and Hammers, probably most reminiscent of her collegiate days as an All-American hammer thrower at UC Berkeley—Go Bears🐻!

Carrie cross trains with hyper fit octogenarians at her neighborhood YMCA. Her training incorporates early morning walks with her 78-year old neighbor, Sue, coaching tennis at the San Francisco Juvenile Hall, and chasing Chihuahuas, which she hopes to house one day on a small ranch. She serves on the board of a Youth Mental Health non-profit and urges everyone to schedule an annual breast cancer screening🎀; early detection keeps you healthy and tossing cabers!

It will be an amazing weekend, with Highland Games, bagpipe and Highland dance competitions, British car show, sheepherding demos, Highland coos, food, artisan vendors, live music, and so much more! The Highland Games at the McMinnville Scottish Festival are especially unique in the fact that we have created our own 💥Titan💥 class!
💥Titan💥 athletes from all over the US represent the best of the best in the Master, A, and Professional classes for both men and women. Athletes in these classes typically don’t mix, except at the McMinnville Scottish Festival where these talented athletes have stepped out of their normal classes to put on a combined high level exhibition competition!
