✨ Meet Miss Alexee! ✨

We’re so excited to celebrate Miss Alexee as she begins her sixth season with the JDM Dance Family! 💜

💫 Her Story
Originally from Gonzales, Louisiana, Miss Alexee began dancing at just 2 years old. She trained extensively in tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, modern, ballet, and technique, competing across the country and at the UDA National Dance Team Championship at Walt Disney World Resort.

🩰 Her Experience
With over 20 years of dance training and more than a decade of teaching experience, Miss Alexee has taught dancers of all ages, choreographed, developed curriculum, and mentored young dancers. At JDM, she serves as an Instructor, Director of Operations & Studio Manager, and Assistant Director of the JDM Performance Company.

💜 Why She Loves Teaching
Miss Alexee believes dance is about so much more than steps. She strives to build confidence, discipline, kindness, resilience, and strong character while creating classes filled with fun, laughter, and a genuine love for dance.

👑 A Fun Fact
A proud Louisiana girl and huge New Orleans Saints fan, Miss Alexee also loves fashion, makeup, photography, and spending time with her family. You may have even seen some of her photography capturing special moments for our JDM dancers!

✨ Meet Mrs. Taylor! ✨

We’re so excited to have Mrs. Taylor back for another season with the JDM Dance Family! 💜

💫 Her Story
Born and raised in Southern California, Mrs. Taylor began dancing at just 5 years old. She trained in both recreational and competitive dance, studying ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, and lyrical. She continued her dance education at California State University, Fullerton, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Dance with extensive training in ballet, modern, and jazz.

🩰 Her Experience
Mrs. Taylor’s years of training and teaching have shaped her belief that dance is about so much more than technique. She is passionate about creating a positive and encouraging classroom while maintaining high expectations, celebrating effort, and building genuine relationships with her dancers. Her goal is to help each student grow not only as a dancer, but also as a person.

💜 Why She Loves Teaching
Mrs. Taylor believes dance is a powerful way to build confidence, resilience, responsibility, respect, and meaningful relationships. She considers it a privilege to share her lifelong love of dance with the next generation and loves watching her students discover what they’re capable of. To her, the greatest success isn’t measured by trophies or titles—it’s seeing a dancer leave class more confident, compassionate, resilient, and excited to keep learning.

👑 A Fun Fact
Outside of JDM, Mrs. Taylor is a Lifetime Girl Scout member! She loves photography, spending time outdoors, drawing and painting, is always up for an iced coffee, and is a devoted dog lover. ☕🐾

One of our favorite things? Getting to watch them grow.

Violet started at JDM when she was just 2 years old, and now she’s 7. Looking back at these pictures, you can see the progression, from her very first dance classes to the confident dancer she is becoming today.

That’s what we love about JDM. There’s a place to start when they’re little and a place to keep learning, growing, and being challenged as they get older.

Whether your dancer is taking her very first class or looking for a place to continue her dance journey, there’s a place for her here.

Five years of Violet at JDM…and we can’t wait to see what comes next. 💜

Motherhood is hard. Make it harder. Become a dance mom. 😂

Add the dance bag. The tights. The missing shoe you KNOW you packed. The last-minute hair fix. And hearing “Mom, watch this!” approximately 47 times a day.

But then you get to watch her walk into class excited, make friends, build confidence, learn something new, and find a place where she belongs.

So yes… we’ll take the harder. 💜

✨ Meet Miss Sarah! ✨

We’re so excited to have Miss Sarah as part of the JDM Dance Family! 💜

💫 Her Story
Born and raised in Plano, Texas, Miss Sarah began dancing at just 5 years old and quickly discovered a love for the performing arts. She trained in ballet, pointe, jazz, lyrical, hip hop, and tap while also performing in theater productions, musicals, and choir. One of her favorite roles was Hodel in Fiddler on the Roof, where she combined her love of singing, acting, and dance.

🩰 Her Experience
Miss Sarah has been teaching dance since 2015. During high school, she completed Student Levels 1–3 through the Cecchetti Ballet Council of America and earned her Grade One Cecchetti Ballet Teaching Certification at just 18 years old. She later earned an Associate of Arts in Dance from Collin College, along with a Business Management certification.

💜 Why She Loves Teaching
Teaching and mentoring children is one of Miss Sarah’s greatest joys. She strives to create a supportive environment where every dancer feels safe to learn, grow, and gain confidence. Her goal is to help her students develop strong technique, character, discipline, and most importantly, a lifelong love of dance.

👑 A Fun Fact
Outside of JDM, Miss Sarah is a professional singer who has performed backup vocals for local bands! She also loves writing and producing music, sewing, and scrapbooking.

What makes our preschool dance program different? ✨

There’s a reason we’re so passionate about the way we teach our littlest dancers.

Our 2–3, 3–4, and 4–5 year old classes follow the Twinkle Star Dance curriculum — a structured, age-appropriate program created specifically for young dancers.

And we love that the impact of dance on children is getting the attention of researchers, too.

This summer, the Stanford Graduate School of Education’s MEL Lab is conducting an 8-week study with 3- and 4-year-old dancers at Tiffany’s Dance Academy to examine how young children watch, learn, and move through dance.

Pretty amazing, right? 🤍

Because preschool dance is about SO much more than learning a plié.

It’s learning to listen and follow directions.
It’s building coordination and musicality.
It’s gaining independence.
It’s using imagination and creativity.
And most importantly, it’s building confidence while falling in love with dance.

At JDM, we believe those first dance experiences matter — and we’re proud to use a curriculum designed specifically for these important early years.
