🎭✨What an Incredible Week of Theater!✨🎭

Last week, we had the absolute pleasure of welcoming the incredible non-profit organization Read Play Love to The Backyard Venue for their wonderful production of The Whimsical World of Sherlock Holmes! 🕵️‍♂️🔎

What a special experience it was to watch this talented group bring mystery, imagination, humor, and adventure to life on stage! ❤️

This remarkable production has been performed in New York and received Broadway recognition, making it such an honor to have Read Play Love share their talent and passion with our community.

A huge thank you to Read Play Love, the talented performers, creative team, and everyone who joined us at The Backyard Venue and helped make these performances so memorable.

About the Show: Dinner & A Show - the ultimate evening of entertainment and enchantment! A crime has been committed, and Sherlock Holmes should be on the case! But…author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle is suffering an emotional breakdown, his characters are disillusioned and exhausted, and Sherlock’s inner song-and-dance man is bursting to emerge! So what happens when characters from the "Sherlock Holmes" stories leap off the pages to follow their own dreams? Explore the joys and consequences of free will when the famous detective takes control of his creator, Arthur Conan Doyle in a battle of wits to decide who is really in charge - creator or creation?

​About the Performance: The Whimsical World of Sherlock Holmes will be presented in an elegant, climate-controlled cedar barn with immersive staging that surrounds you in the story. You'll feel like you're right in the middle of a Sherlock Holmes story! Before the show and during intermission, enjoy the magical surroundings of this truly unique location. Seats are limited, so reserve yours soon!

About the Meal Service: Before the curtain rises—or during our extended intermission—join us for a delightful British-inspired Jacket Potato Bar! Create your perfect jacket potato from a variety of traditional toppings, with the option to include shredded chicken. Vegan and gluten-free jacket potato options are available. Your meal also includes dessert and bottled water. Additional beverages and theatre concessions will be available for purchase. To avoid missing out, we encourage you to reserve your meal in advance. Onsite meals will be limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis for $15 (just $10 when ordering beforehand.)

🚧 ROAD CONSTRUCTION NOTICE

The Backyard Venue
📍 1410 S Bridgefarmer Rd, McKinney, TX 75069

Bridgefarmer Rd is currently being re-paved, so our road will soon be nice and smooth—yay! 🎉

In the meantime, if you have an appointment or are attending an event, please carefully follow the directions below to make your arrival as easy as possible.

🚧 THE VENUE IS OPEN & ACCESSIBLE!

GPS maps may currently show Bridgefarmer Rd as CLOSED between Settlers Trail and Highridge Farms Rd. However, you CAN access The Backyard Venue!

MONDAY–FRIDAY:
Construction generally takes place approximately 7:00 AM until 5:00–7:00 PM. During construction hours, construction workers are allowing guests traveling to The Backyard Venue to pass through the construction zone.

After construction hours: The road is reopened each weekday evening.

SATURDAYS & SUNDAYS:
✅ Bridgefarmer Rd is OPEN, even though GPS maps may continue to show it as closed.

⚠️ VERY IMPORTANT

PLEASE STAY ON BRIDGEFARMER RD.

Do NOT turn onto Highridge Farms Rd or Settlers Trail, even if your GPS tells you to do so.

⭐ RECOMMENDED ROUTE

During construction, we recommend approaching Bridgefarmer Rd from FM 546 (Harry McKillop Rd)** rather than from US 380.

This is currently the **easiest route to The Backyard Venue.

📍 HOW TO FIND US

The Backyard Venue is:

* Just north of Silo Crossing Park
* Just south of Milligan Water
* Directly across from the Lowry Crossing Fire Department

Please allow a little extra travel time, use caution when traveling through the construction area, and pardon the dust! 🚧

Thank you for your patience and understanding while our road is being improved. The construction is temporary, but the smoother ride will be worth it!

🎉✨ A Dashing 50th Birthday Celebration ✨🎉

What an unforgettable night at The Backyard Venue!

We had a full house celebrating Maria's 50 fabulous years in the best way possible with nonstop energy and a beautifully color-coordinated crowd that made the entire evening feel like a living work of art.

Guests enjoyed an incredible lineup of food carts serving everything from savory bites to sweet treats, turning the celebration into a true festival-style experience.

And the live band brought the house down — filling the venue with incredible music that kept the dance floor packed all night. 🪩🎶
