Never in a million years did I think “go to an international soccer match” would end up on my life’s Bingo card… but somehow it did. ⚽😂

After over a year of trying (and failing) to get tickets, Chris and I finally made it to England vs. Croatia in Dallas — and it was one of the coolest experiences of our lives.

Is it just me, or does it suddenly feel like summer showed up overnight?

The days are longer, the Texas heat is doing its thing (although to be fair, it’s less hot this year than normal!), and all I can think about are beach trips, salty air, and finding seashells along the shore.

It also happens to be Sea Turtle Week, which feels like the perfect excuse to show a little love to one of our favorite designs. Our Sea Turtle Mother’s Angels® ornament is perfect for the beach lovers, ocean dreamers, sea turtle enthusiasts, and anyone who feels most at peace with their toes in the sand (cue Jimmy Buffett music!).

Maybe it reminds you of a favorite vacation. Maybe it’s a gift for someone who lives by the coast. Or maybe you just need a little reminder to slow down and enjoy the season you’re in.

How absolutely wonderful. 🤍

My mom has received several special occasion gown donations recently to make burial gowns for the memory boxes I provide to hospitals for families experiencing loss.

The sweetest donation came from my daughter, Juliet. Anytime she outgrows something with pretty fabric, she tells me to save it for Grammy (including her dance recital costume...which, too bad, isn't usable for gowns!)! The dress she wore for her birthday this year was one of those special donations... so far it became 4 beautiful gowns.... 3 for babies and 1 for a keepsake for her doll!

I love that even at her age, she understands the importance of helping others in unimaginable moments. ❤️ I hope when I am too old to do memory boxes, she will continue it for me and keep her sister's memory alive! 🥰

The World Cup kicks off today, and if you’d told me a few years ago that Chris and I would become soccer fans, I never would have believed you.

But this week has been one for the books.

A few days ago, we won a lottery to watch Team Sweden practice at our local stadium. Not only did we get tickets, but our assigned seats were front row, center. We truly couldn’t have asked for a better view, and it was an experience we’ll never forget.

Then, after trying for nearly a year to navigate what has honestly been a pretty awful ticketing process, we finally won the chance through FC Dallas to purchase tickets to next week’s England vs. Croatia match. And somehow, it ended up being the exact game we had hoped for! I lived in England during college, and the striker from FC Dallas plays for Croatia, so it’s going to be especially fun to cheer everyone on.

Soccer has become one of our favorite things. We’re even FC Dallas season ticket holders — a very rare splurge for us — and we’ve fallen completely in love with the sport.

With the World Cup beginning, it felt like the perfect time to share our new soccer Mother’s Angels® ornament with all of the soccer moms, players, coaches, teammates, and fans who understand the joy this game brings.

One of the things we love most is seeing how people incorporate Mother’s Angels® ornaments into the spaces that mean the most to them.

Our friend Stacy shared this beautiful memorial display honoring her grandfather, Pvt. Buford G.B. Shropshire. Surrounded by photographs, medals, dog tags, and treasured keepsakes from his military service, his memory continues to be celebrated and preserved with love.

We were especially touched to see our Poppy Mother’s Angels® ornament displayed alongside this tribute. The poppy has long been a symbol of remembrance, making it a wonderful addition to a display dedicated to honoring a life well lived.

This kind of note is exactly why what we do means so much to us. When someone is grieving, there are rarely perfect words. Sometimes, a small gesture simply says, “I’m thinking of you. I remember. I care.”

A customer recently gave one of our ornaments to a friend who had lost her sister. With permission (from our customer as well as the author of the note), she shared the note she received in return:

“Dearest Carol,

Thank you so much for such a thoughtful gift! The angel is beautiful.

It says inscripted, ‘Forever in my Heart.’

I will cherish it and I have a special tree I’ll place it on at Christmas.

My sister is forever in my heart. I shall miss her until we are together again.

The people we love never truly leave us. They remain in our stories, our memories, our traditions, and in the little things that help us feel close to them.
