Hey everyone! I’m back! (I’m not sure if that’s a statement or a threat. Depends on who you ask I guess! 😂)

I just made a trip up from our home here in North Texas to East Tennessee for two weeks to visit my parents. I’ll try and find the time to write a blog post about my adventure, but in the meantime I wanted to share with you a beautiful video of my parents’ garden.

They did ALL of this themselves. Isn’t it gorgeous?! The mountain air and beautiful greenery all around was so wonderful.

Life feels heavy for so many people right now. So much stress. So much uncertainty. So many people quietly carrying things they never talk about.

It’s Saturday — which means “Soccerday” in our household! More soccer talk below…

Our more recent favorite pastime is going to watch our local MLS team FC Dallas! Because our anniversary is coming up, we decided to get cooler seats for tonight as a way to celebrate.

And the best part? It looks like Texas spring weather is being kind for a change. 😂 Phew! No tornadoes or hail for today (tomorrow may be a different story).

We also just found out this week that our names were drawn for World Cup tickets! So that’s wayyyyy cool! I had tried so hard to get some, but the entire purchase process was the worst I’ve ever experienced for anything and after trying for hours with no luck, I gave up hope. It was nice for a little luck to be thrown our way.

Have never done anything like this before, and are excited to go. Especially since it’s practically in our backyard with one of the venues being Dallas. We’re going to see England vs Croatia play.

Everyone knows I have an affinity with England since living there for a time in college. And then there’s Croatia. Our local team’s striker is from Croatia and will be playing for team Croatia at the World Cup! It’s a conundrum: who to root for?!

Strawberry gifts just feel happy, don’t they?

My love of strawberries goes back to my childhood. From picking them with my mom, to creating paintings of them with my grandma, they’ve always been such a cheerful memory of connection. My family also had a strawberry stoneware dinner set from JCPenney that we regularly used! In fact, despite only one mug and four dinner plates remaining due to unfortunate casualties over the years, my mom gifted them to me this past Christmas. 😊
