Just some lyrics to a song I've been writing lately:

Yesterday as I was walking I saw you pass by. I use to hold you once upon a time. A memory that haunts me flashed through my mind. No shot of whiskey is strong enough tonight. Yesterday I laid your pictures all out on the floor. All night I stumbled down this hall back and forth. An empty bottle next to me when I awoke on the floor. It's too much for a broken heart to keep beating when its torn.

But today I smiled at a girl looking my way. Let my Harley set me free as I chased those winds of change. I was a clown to try and please you but I don't play that part no more. Said goodbye to yesterday and closed the door.

Yesterday I saw you with him and tears filled my eyes. You looked so good in love just like we did for a time. I hope he makes you happy so he can see that smile when you laugh. Just like a rose that memory has thorns that hurt so bad. Yesterday an empty glass and a midnight cigarette is how my day has been spent like every day again. Drowning in the bottle to numb this heart of mine that only gets to hold you when I dream of you at night.
