If you have been wanting to take a peek at the Japanese stage play for Castlevania: Awakening in the Moonlight, Castlevania Fangirl has an English translation on her YouTube channel. Sure, there are some cheesy parts, but I would have really loved to see this live.

A fan translation I made for the Symphony of the Night Musical.Tags:castlevanianocturnealucardrichter belmontmaria renardvlad dracula tepeslisa tepesdeathdar...

This weekend marked my first time attending an orchestrated video game concert in the form of Distant Worlds: music from Final Fantasy. The city of Milwaukee hosted Distant Worlds at the Miller High Life Theatre to a very excited audience. The concept of Distant Worlds is not new to me, as I have several copies of their various album releases from the past few years. However, I was very excited to see and hear the performances live in person.

Doors at the Miller High Life Theatre opened at 7:00 PM, with the show kicking off just a few minutes after 8:00 PM. Our first goal upon getting into the theatre wasn't finding our seats, but instead getting in line for some merchandise. We were lucky to get in line when we did, as the merchandise line wrapped around a good portion of the theatre lobby area. We waited in line for almost an hour, but nothing seemed to be sold out when we reached the merchandise table. The merchandise selection had plenty of variety. Distant Worlds t-shirts, hats, and performance recordings in both CD and vinyl were available to purchase. For those looking for more specific Final Fantasy items, plushes of Moogles, Torgal the Dog, and Chocobos were available to buy. Additionally, almost every CD soundtrack from the Final Fantasy series was available to purchase. I picked up a Final Fantasy IX picture disk, a program, and a few other CDs.

With our purchases complete, we had just enough to get to our seats before the opening performance started. The orchestra kicked off the show with the central theme from Final Fantasy and followed it up with an epic performance of Liberi Fatali from Final Fantasy VIII. I instantly got goosebumps during the performance, and the song set the pace for an epic night of performances featuring various songs from Final Fantasy 14 and 16, along with a small collection of songs from other games.

I won't spoil the rest of the songs performed, but if Distant Worlds is coming to your city, I highly recommend going. If there's one regret I have about the show, it's that I've knowingly missed other opportunities to attend for a few years now. Overall, it was a fantastic show and I can't wait to attend again.

It's been a journey finding a CD manufacturer that would let me sell this album at a fair price and handle all the shipping. I hope you enjoy getting the physical version of the album!

This week marked the release of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. Surprisingly, I made the decision to cancel my PS5 pre-order of the game and opted for a PC copy instead. Why? Well, I already have about 5 copies of the original Snake Eater in various formats and because Delta is more of a upgrade / remaster than a true remake, I figured a digital copy of this version would suffice.

So far, my experience has been OK. There has been some pretty obvious instances where the game performance takes some big hits. I encountered a bug where the Fear became invincible and got himself stuck in a animation loop, causing me to have to blow Snake up with my own weapons to restart. The adjusted control scheme has been great and was much needed for this update. I still think they need to pull the camera back a bit from Snake, however.

Overall, the experience has been decent, but I think I would have enjoyed this update more if I haven’t just played the HD remaster of Snake Eater back in November of last year. If it’s been awhile since you played Snake Eater, it’s worth picking up. For those of you who have played the original recently though, you may want to wait until it goes on sale.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, released on August 28, 2025, is a remake of the 2004 classic, featuring enhanced graphics via Unreal Engine 5 and modernized controls. It introduces new gameplay elements like a quick-select camouflage system and the return of the 'Snake vs. Monkey' minigame on PlayStation platforms. The game is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, with pre-order bonuses and a Collector's Edition offering exclusive content.

I finally got around to playing Earthion today and had a blast running through it on a Sunday afternoon. After getting my ass kicked on Stage 5 on medium mode, I decided to take a run through the game on easy mode. Gotta love the Yuzo Kushiro music, but how could you not?

Now I have to buy the damn soundtrack!

Played on a Sega Genesis Model 1 system via SCART on a RetroTink4k.

Jump back into the golden age of the Sega Genesis with Earthion, a brand-new shoot-’em-up developed natively for the 16-bit system by Ancient Corp., with music by the legendary Yuzo Koshiro. Play as Azusa Takanashi, a starfighter pilot defending a dying Earth across eight action-packed levels.

Originally released digitally on modern platforms on July 31, 2025, the physical Mega Drive cartridge version arrives in 2026. Features include CRT-style scanlines, multiple difficulty modes, password save system, a music player, and more. Don’t miss this next-level retro experience!
