It's been a hot summer and we are blessed that the clubhouse has been rented for different events all summer. Now it is time to get back to our regular business meetings. We are honored to have as our September speaker the Honorable Kam Varner, McDonough Mayor. She will bring us up to date on city activities and future plans. Reminder: Renting our building is giving back to the community as we support several non profits in the community. Our meeting is September 8 at our clubhouse at 199 Turner St. Members please come early to register and be prepared for the meeting to start at 2pm. New membership is always welcome with sponsorship .Message us if interested in visiting or renting the building.

Janie Hurst was a long time member of McDonough Womans Club and her memorial details are pending at Canon Cleveland Funeral Home for an early memorial on Wednesday this week,. Janie was very active until her health declined and moved to be closer to family. She would come to meetings when she was in town. Condolences to her family, with Christine Hurst. Janie is in the front row on both of these pictures.

Today we celebrated our treasured member and friend Donna Martin as McDonough Woman's Club 2026 Member of the Year. Donna spreads joy wherever she goes and generously shares her many talents in service to the Club. Embracing our motto "A Vision and a Task," while exemplifying our scripture, "Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with all thy might."

A delicious pot-luck luncheon was enjoyed by all as we look forward to our annual summer break. Monthly meetings resume in September.

As always, our Clubhouse is available for your small parties or gatherings.

Summer almost officially here...partying still going on, birthdays every day or maybe planning your fall events...we just might have the event space you need! We have fully equipped kitchen, two bathrooms, on site parking, and a great room that can look like Home and you don't have to clean your house to party! We meet next week for our June lunch and resume our business meetings in September, but our clubhouse is available all summer! Contact us if we can help.

Enjoyed having McDonough Junior Women’s Club President Bobbi Martinez and VP Yadi Westbrooks as our speakers this week at our May meeting. We learned all about the MJWC activities and how they support the community. Their big fundraiser are the tomato sandwiches they will prepare and sell at the Geranium Festival tomorrow. The tomato sandwiches with and without onion are a festival favorite! BTW, the Lions Club, also a community group that gives back to the community is the festival organizer. Pictured also is Denise Sowell, our VP and Program chair and President Donna Wilson.
