Matt and I just wanted to wish everyone a wonderful holiday and the happiest of new years! We truly appreciate everyone who has supported our little business during a year of so many changes as we slowly adjust to being a family of three! While our little guy has made it very difficult for mom to spend much time at the wheel, we look forward to slowly getting our hands back in the mud and hopefully creating some new pieces this year!

Good morning everyone!

On Friday evening at Modern Methods, I spoke with someone who'd found and processed some "wild clay" (clay they dug up).

This is an interesting and ambitious endeavor, so I applaud anyone who wants to give it a go, it's on my bucket list myself.

Anyway...

We were discussing potential firing methods, and I didn't think of them at the time, but this morning I thought of some interesting ideas on how you might be able to do it. We'd discussed pit firing , as you wouldn't be risking anyone's kiln / equipment. There's a nuance to how I'd approach it that you might find interesting.
