Collaborating on the Big Heart project with is a way for me to use my art and science background as a means to support a local organization. For the actual art I am using the “landscape equation” as a means to both share and show how the different prices of place interact together. Where L=A+B+C.
L= Landscape…. In this case lands that are apart of the Payette Land Trust. A=Abiotic or non-living… this can be geologic features or disturbances. I am using pigment collected on the land to make paint for this project. B=Biotic or living. For this I am represent four different ecosystems and the species who live there through the actual painting. C=Cultural/Community or how humans interact with the land. For this we start to think about our connection to place and how we interact with the land around us. Stay tuned for the painting and reveal of the ❤️.

I’m back!!! After two years (literally my daughter turns two this week!!) I have the opportunity to create art again. Little back story, my ceramic studio turned into my daughter’s nursery. I spent the better part of a year trying to figure out a way to continue my ceramic business, other art avenues and eventually closed doors. I knew my art would always be there, and this season called for me to be a mother. So I spent time with Jo, going on dog walks and figuring out what motherhood looked like for me. This time and space allowed me also to reflect on how I wanted to show up, the impact I wanted to have and what my own personal dreams were. From this was born. I’ve been working with my first client and navigating this new business and loving it!!! BUT I also had a call on heart to do some art again. So I applied to be an artist for a local nonprofit “big heart project” …. And I got it. So I’ll be sharing behind the scenes of this project as I navigate a new medium. But I’m glad to be BACK!!!
