🤠🎻 Kicking off the school year, country style!

Today, the McAllen ISD Orchestra Directors came together as “Fiddles & Fire” to kick off the school year with a performance of The Devil Went Down to Georgia at our district’s General Assembly! It was an honor to be part of this year’s “Boots on the Ground” theme and celebrate the start of another exciting school year.

From the McAllen Orchestra Department, we wish all of our students, staff, and families a wonderful year filled with growth, music, and success. Let’s make it a great one! 🎶🎻

Join us in celebrating Caleb Arellano, one of our outstanding violinists, on earning the prestigious Outstanding Performer award at the UIL Texas State Solo & Ensemble Contest, held this past May at UT Austin!

This recognition is one of the highest honors awarded at the state contest. Out of thousands of student performers representing schools across Texas in solo and ensemble events, only about 2–3% are selected as Outstanding Performers for their exceptional musicianship and performance.

Congratulations, Caleb, on this incredible honor! Your talent and dedication continue to inspire us, and we can't wait to see where your musical journey takes you next. 🎶👏
