Although this was December 2019, it's an important experiment today. It is similar to an experiment I 'conducted' back in November 2019 - we utilized GPS clocking to sync a studio physically isolated from the venue. Granted the studio was less than 1 mile away - still isolated. The GPS clocking enabled nanosecond sync such that our Dante transmission was error free (mostly).

So, GPS solves the problem of sync between isolated Dante networks, but it does not address latency.

Low latency transmission lines (systems) might solve the latency issue, but for now, at the expense of dropouts.

But the future of physically isolated sound collaboration in the Dante world is in the works.

RMT is now an RF Venue dealer. We use the Diversity Fin as well as their RG8x cable as our primary antenna for all of our Shure ULXD wireless systems. In addition, we use the RF Explorer to coordinate RF. Flawless systems, even as the channel count approaches 100 channels.

RMT is now an RME dealer. The Digiface Dante is a fantastic Dante interface for our computers running QLab.

Proud to have provided the sound design and installation for the 2019 Blaze.

The design includes 32 discrete zones of music / sfx, which feature JBL outdoor speakers powered by crown amplifiers. Audio distribution was handled by a fiber Dante network with a variety of Yamaha Ro8s and RIOs. Our latest installation is the horseman tunnel, which features a surround sound sfx system.

All of the 32 loops were programmed using QLab on a Mac Pro with an RME Digiface Dante to connect to the Dante network...only 700 cues.

Audio and lighting synchronization was achieved via (4) SMPTE loops, a few OSC commands and (3) MIDI GPIO buttons.

The Blaze at Van Cortlandt Manor is back.

RMT Production Services, LLC provided (21) zones of music and sfx, (44) speakers, (2) playback engines synchronized via midi across a 1/4 mile.

Apparently, the scariest part of the event was when I exited the dark control room via a creaky door while a bunch of unsuspecting kids were walking by. Screams...children running..."that door is opening! Ahhhh!"

Excellent.
