The Hollow has chosen its CAST. Beneath the moonlight, through the twisted trees and just beyond the sound of approaching hoofbeats, a new telling of Washington Irving’s legendary nightmare is beginning to take shape.

Maysville Players presents HORSEMAN! — A Sleepy Hollow Tale, an original new musical where familiar names return, old secrets refuse to stay buried, and the Horseman is never quite as far away as you think.

Through the fog. Beneath the trees. Somewhere beyond the sound of approaching hoofbeats, a legend that has haunted readers for more than 200 years rides again.

HORSEMAN! A Sleepy Hollow Tale
A haunting new musical inspired by Washington Irving’s legendary tale.

The music haunting the Hollow was not borrowed from some distant stage. It was written, composed and brought to life here by our very own Mikey Mills —an original score created for HORSEMAN from its first note to its final echo.

And from the mind of Michael English .englishhh came the story itself—shaping this familiar legend into a new telling made for the stage!

But these stories deserves a telling of its own. More from behind the Hollow is still to come…

Maysville Players is seeking performers to help bring this haunting new musical to life on the stage of the historic Washington Opera House!

📅 Auditions: August 8 & 9 at 5:00 PM
📍 Washington Opera House | Maysville, Kentucky

The production is directed by Mikey Mills and Michael English, with script and story by Michael English and lyrics and orchestration by Mikey Mills.

Our hearts are very full looking at this group.

What began with scripts, songs, costume pieces, paintbrushes and a whole lot of rehearsing has grown into something truly special.

Our cast has brought these characters to life with so much personality, courage and heart—but none of it would be possible without the incredible crew working beside them and behind the scenes.

From building and painting the set to organizing costumes, moving props, managing lights and sound, helping with quick changes and solving every last-minute surprise, our crew has poured so much time, talent and love into this show. They may not always be standing in the spotlight, but their work is part of every single moment you see onstage.

We are so proud of this entire cast and crew and so thankful for the families, volunteers and supporters who helped bring our little corner of Far Far Away to life. 🏰✨
