You might have caught a glimpse of the Novalloy Flute at our booth at NFA this year. Now, we’re taking a closer look at this rare piece of Powell history πŸ”Ž

Novalloy was the final project of our former owner, Steven Wasser, reflecting his longstanding interest in exploring new materials and their possibilities in flutemaking. Developed as a unique silver alloy with platinum, gold, and copper, Novalloy was created with the goal of bringing greater projection to the familiar qualities of a silver flute.

Each instrument features specialty tarnish-resistant Novalloy blend tubing, a Sterling Silver pinless mechanism, soldered tone holes, Modern Powell scale, Straubinger pads, inline G, and B foot, with a Sterling Silver lip plate and crown.

With only two Novalloy Flutes in existence, these instruments are a truly special part of the Powell vault.
