The upper echelons love their "muchachas" to bathe and clean their children as well as their "jardineros" to keep their gardens and cars looking spiffy....The ultimate remiinder of their social status is establishing how much Spanish blood runs in their veins. not Mexican.
There are reasons people leave their homelands....being left outside the reach of their nation's economic and political reach are certainly reasons that drive many to walk 100's of miles and risk the most dangerous threats imaginable.....The American Mexican success primarily along the southwest has carved out success despite the hateful treatment of Mexico's ruling elite, on the one hand, as well as the racist views and attitudes of the US far right and now reward Mexican tv producers with space for programming for Spanish-speaking audiences is to not only to overlook the efforts of the American born Latino community to gain a foothold in the filmmaking industry, but also have a complete meltdown of history....e
