As we say so long to Andy Griffith, we must acknowledge his show's effect on the popularity of bluegrass. The Dillards (as the Darling family) were many people's first exposure to the music. Grammy-winning folk musician Doc Watson was in critical condition Thursday at a North Carolina hospital after falling at his home in Deep Gap earlier this week.
