Yesterday, Nativa Studio had the privilege of collaborating again with the Art on the Go Program.
We led a creative workshop for girls aged 8 to 14 to promote culture, creativity, and mental health. Using recycled textiles and traditional techniques like embroidery and painting, we were inspired by the Mayan TeotihuacΓ‘n flower. Each piece was made with care, using colors that showed the girls' joy and hope.
Even though it was a small group, it was a very special space for sharing. Their stories were touching. They talked about migrating to the USA during the pandemic and how learning a new language became a way to share their lives rather than a struggle. Their resilience showed that, despite today's migration challenges, it is possible to look to the future with gratitude... β₯οΈππ½π¨
