Great Lakes Racing Promotions Postpones June 5 NASCAR Night at Corrigan Oil Speedway to June 26
Mason, Michigan β Great Lakes Racing Promotions, the leasing and promotional company for this Friday's event at Corrigan Oil Speedway, regrets to announce that the June 5 NASCAR Night program has been postponed and rescheduled for Friday, June 26.
The decision was made jointly by Great Lakes Racing Promotions, the Ohio Wheelman Super Series, National Compact Touring Series, and Midwest Classic Racers after careful review of weather forecasts and consultation with traveling teams.
The June 26 event will feature all originally scheduled attractions, including:
Ohio Wheelman Super Stocks
National Compact Touring Series
Midwest Classic Racers (MCR Dwarf Cars)
Ohio Wheelman Juice Box Series
Fan Autograph Night
In addition, all planned fan promotions and giveaways will be rolled over to the June 26 event. Great Lakes Racing Promotions is also working on additional attractions and fan appreciation activities to make the rescheduled event even bigger and better.
The decision was made after consultation with the National Weather Service forecast, which is calling for heavy rain and thunderstorms beginning Friday evening and continuing through the overnight hours into Saturday morning.
Because the event features multiple traveling series with competitors coming from Wisconsin, Illinois, Ohio, Indiana, and throughout Michigan, organizers felt it was important to make the decision early. Many teams would have begun traveling to Corrigan Oil Speedway by early Friday morning.
"This is never an easy decision, especially with the amount of work our racers, sponsors, and staff have put into this event," said Drew Jach, Promoter of Great Lakes Racing Promotions. "However, with teams traveling several hours from multiple states and the forecast showing a high probability of severe weather during race time, we felt it was important to make the call early. We appreciate the understanding of our fans, racers, sponsors, and Corrigan Oil Speedway management. Our goal is to provide the best possible experience for everyone involved, and we are already working to make June 26 an even bigger Fan Appreciation Night."
Great Lakes Racing Promotions would like to thank the leadership of the Ohio Wheelman Super Series, National Compact Touring Series, Midwest Classic Racers, and Corrigan Oil Speedway for their cooperation throughout the decision-making process.
While Corrigan Oil Speedway fully understood and supported the decision, organizers would like to note that the postponement decision was made by Great Lakes Racing Promotions and the participating touring series due to the unique travel commitments associated with the leased event.
Additional details regarding Fan Appreciation Night activities and promotions for June 26 will be announced in the coming weeks.
