Before we get into today’s awesome feature;
❗️HGTV VIDEO SUBMISSION UPDATE❗️
Tomorrow (Thursday Feb 6), we will be holding a submission party at 5:30pm at the Silver Dollar Saloon. That way if you’re not tech savvy, or you want to celebrate this awesome community experience, we’ll be on standby with laptops to help!
💻🥂🍻✨
We understand not everyone is still in the area or available to come, so there will also be a “HOW TO” video on how to submit with us to HGTV which will be loaded up and public tomorrow! You do not have to still live in the area to help us submit to win!

Now back to the State Theatre! 🎬🎥
It started out in 1907 as the Marysville Theatre, where it had live productions, and great entertainment. It was a night on the town and brought so much to our little town.
💰🎟🎭
After a fire and a $250,000 pledge (close to $3 million USD today), the National Theatre opened on September 14, 1927. The Theatre was built to hold 1,672 people, and was known for it’s 2,000 electric lights!
💡💡💡
In 1938, the national turned into what it is now - The State Theatre. It was remodelled in the 70’s where they turned the balcony into a double screen which left it with 3 full screens as it has now. It then closed in 1996, and fell to some fire in 2005 finally boarding it up.
🏗🏚
But it’s been decaying ever since 1996. I wish I could’ve seen it in it’s hay day. It’s been now closed longer than some voting adults have been alive!
😨🤯
Did you ever get to attend at the State Theatre?
