Marysville Raceway Park will be bigger and better than ever for the 2012 season. While the final bits of the 2012 schedule are still being ironed out, we can confirm that Marysville Raceway Park will host two California Civil War 360 winged sprint car races, a King Of The West 410 winged sprint car race, and for the first time an AMA Flat Track Motorcycle race near the end of the season. This is all on top of our regular classes that we will continue to run. This year promises to be one the best ever! We are located at 1468 Simpson Lane. Stock Cars Invade Marysville

(Marysville, CA 9/21/26) Once a year Marysville Raceway dedicates a late season event to California dirt stock car racing. Called the Taxicab challenge, it features five divisions of stock cars tackling the ¼ mile clay oval located just off Simpson Lane in Marysville. The 70 cars expected will bring the raceway to life Saturday night October 3, 2026.

The Xtreme Late Model series will headline the show. They also have a race in March at the track and the division was once part of the regular lineup at the Speedway. Top local runners include former Champion Matt Micheli from nearby Live Oak and Yuba Cities Rod Oliver. Traveler Shawn DeForest has won this race two years in a row.

Pro stocks, which are a melting pot for area track super and street stocks, are on the schedule along with the Placerville Speedway Pure stocks. Petaluma’s Steve Studebaker out raced Auburn’s Richard Brace Jr. and Sutter driver Corey Hall in the Pro stocks portion of the 2024 Taxicab. Last year local two time track champion Jacob Johnson of Yuba City out ran veterans Phil Marino and Mike Learn.

This is the single event for the pure stocks at the speedway and Auburn’s Wayne Trimble has been the frontrunner the last two years. Other front runners include Nick Baldwin and Orville Owens and Michael Murphy.

Hobby stocks just completed their 2026 championship battle at Marysville with Yuba City driver Kyle Cheney landing on top. Cheney was challenged all year by local drivers Jason Clayton Jr. and Howard Law. But last year Phillip Shelby of Oliverhurst came home the winner. Track rules will apply to this division.

Marysville Raceway is located just off Simpson Lane next to the Marysville Flea Market in the Yuba River flood plain. The ¼ mile clay oval has operated for more the 60 years at this location.

The Pit gate will open at 3 P.M. on Oct. 3. The front gate and grandstand will open at 5 P.M. Racing is planned for 6:30. Tickets will be sold at the gate or may be obtained online through the track website at www.marysvilleraceway.com. Online tickets are discounted. Adult tickets at the gate will be $18, Junior and seniors are $16, kids are $8. Under 5 are free. Additional information may be obtained at 530-350-7275 or at www.marysvilleraceway.com. (END)

On behalf of Marysville Raceway we want to express our sincere sadness upon hearing that Super Fan Paul Olmsted passed away recently. Paul was a mainstay at Marysville Raceway. Him and Chelsea always arrived early to the facility, and once they cruised through the pit area after the races, seemed like the last to leave.

His passion for dirt track racing was second to none. Paul also enjoyed sponsoring the racers with bonus money for many seasons. We will miss Paul. The information below is from his family. Thank you Paul for the love you had for racing, the staff at the track, and the race car drivers. You will be missed.

Paul Olmsted’s celebration of life will be held on September 27th at 1 pm in the picnic area at Billie Park in paradise. Please pass this information on to anyone who knew my dad and would like to attend. ❤️

Western States Dwarf Car Association Nationals at Marysville Raceway

Marysville, CA – (9-14-26) …Marysville Raceway is the place to be this Friday and Saturday night, September 18 and 19, as we host the popular 31st Western States Dwarf Car Association Nationals. A large contingent of Dwarf Cars teams will travel from all over the Western United States and converge at the famed quarter-mile oval.

The WSDCA National Series features three different divisions including Pro, Veteran, and Sportsman classes. In all, nearly 100 different drivers usually take to the track over the two nights of spectacular racing. Three champions will be crowned following the Saturday night racing. As usual, this race weekend is hosted by the Nor Cal Dwarf Car Association (NCDCA).

The pit gate will be open at 3 PM both days. Front grandstand for spectators will open at 5 PM both days. Racing starts at 6:00 PM each night.

On Friday and Saturday night the adult tickets are $18.00 (16-61), Seniors (62+) and Juniors (12-15) are $16.00, kids ages (6-11) are $8.00. Children five and under are FREE. Also, parking is FREE for the spectators.

Dwarf Car racing is fast and furious. The competition is second to none when these cars and stars hit the dirt track oval. Fans will see a surplus of racing both nights. On Saturday night, the main events are as good as it gets.

Fielding Scores Second Sprint Win BY Dennis Gage Pics: Jessica Cucuk

(Marysville, CA 9/5/26) William Fielding led every lap of the 25 lap sprint car main event at Marysville Raceway Saturday night to score his second feature win of the year. Fielding also secured 3rd overall in the season long championship battle that concluded on Sat.

Second generation Sprint car driver Dryver Dothage followed in the footsteps of his father by capturing the 2026 Championship crown. Dothage finished 7th Saturday but kept a 36 point advantage over Carson Hall. His 11 top ten finishes was his strength in capturing his first driving title.

Misty Castleberry won the battle but lost the war in Crate sprint racing. Castleberry raced to her 4th main event win of the year after she grabbed the lead from K.C. Carpenter on lap 11. Her efforts fell short by just 5 points as Jacob Johnson became the Crate sprint champion for the year. Johnson, a former Hobby Stock champion, ran fifth in the race.

Kyle Cheney nearly won it all as he led the Hobby Stock feature event for 17 of the 20 laps, but Brian Cooper had other ideas as he raced to win. Cheney scored his 3rd straight championship holding a 16 point advantage over Howard Law. Law ran third in the race.

The Coopers were hot on Saturday and Todd Cooper snuck under Shannon Barton on lap 7 of the Sport Modified event to score his third win of the year. Barton held on for second with veteran Jimmy Ford in third. A sixth place finish was adequate for Mike Merritt who won the championship over youngster Cole Fear by just 8 points. One of the closest battles of the year. 3rd finishing Dan Brown Jr. was on 2 points behind Fear.

Jake Haulot was the sprint car fast qualifier and ran a close second to Fielding. Andy Gregg returned to sprint car racing to come from 10th to finish third.

The crates almost went non stop until a minor caution on lap 19. The required green, white, checkered made the race go 21 laps. Carpenter kept second. Jason Ballentine was 3rd.

Racing will resume with the annual Dwarf Car Nationals on Sept. 18 and 19.
