I believe in intentionality with portraits.

My wife being my favorite Muse, is also a talented photographer. And I've taken pictures of her many times with a camera in her hands, however, with this one I had stared at her for probably a good 10 minutes beforehand while she took photos.

And mind you, I do have photos that are focused on her from this same angle lol, but I've been challenging myself these last few years to figure out how I tell people stories in a different way.

It's been part of the entirety of how I shoot portrait sessions now. A portraitscape if you will.

And to create one of these is my favorite thing in the world now.

So before every session that I do now, I make everything intentional. I aim to walk a little in the person's shoes, I talked to them about the experience that they're wanting out of it. I go to the location with plenty of time to walk around and feel out the shots. I take care in how I capture the memory of someone's life.

My aim is not to take a picture, but rather to create a photograph. A Photograph gives feeling... and what an honor to be a part of that with another human.

Thank you to everyone that I've had the pleasure of working with so far in creating feelings with photography.
