Emberwild Photography

Emberwild Photography Emberwild Photography was born from a love of wild places and the stories nature tells without words.

After years of photographing people and life’s milestones, I found myself drawn back to the landscapes and wildlife that have always inspired me.

There was something so sweet about this little cub standing in the tree, completely focused on the cherries in the tree across the way. Curiosity at its finest—and one of those moments that reminds you why sunrise in Cades Cove is always worth it!!

We only had one sunrise and one sunset in Cades Cove, and somehow they gave us everything we hoped for!! We spent time watching a mama bear and her two cubs, and it was one of those moments I’ll never forget.

I caught this Cedar Waxwing hard at work, gathering what it needs to build a little nest. Moments like these remind me that some of nature’s greatest stories aren’t loud—they’re quietly unfolding in the branches above us.

Until the day I can wander the plains of Africa or the mountains of Alaska, I’ll happily spend my time with the wild souls who call our local zoo home.

Some people think zoo photography is easy—but these animals don’t pose on command. They’re often hidden, resting, or just one step ahead of the perfect moment. Capturing an image that tells their story still takes patience, timing, and a little luck.

I genuinely enjoyed my time behind the camera today. Every opportunity to observe wildlife, wherever it may be, reminds me why Emberwild exists. Until the world opens its doors, I’ll keep finding the wild that’s already waiting close to home.

There are moments in the woods when the world grows quiet enough to hear your own thoughts again.
