“When will it be back in stock?”

Claudia Orso, one of our Account Executives, gets asked that every week. Here’s the thing: it’s only half the question.

The other half is: what can replace it until then?

That’s where Claudia shines. When a client needs something that’s out of stock, finding the right substitute is the job, so your orders keep moving while you wait.

Her quick guide for when something’s out:
✔️ Ask when it’ll be back in stock
✔️ Ask what can replace it until then
✔️ Order ink and paper before you’re on your last one

That last one matters. The costly mistake she sees most is forgetting to order ink or paper, then paying to expedite it.

And her philosophy: “Anyone can sell someone a product.” What matters is what you do once the client has it and something goes wrong.

As our Customer Service Week series wraps up, thank you, Claudia 🧡

“How fast can you process my order?”

That’s Melanie’s favorite question to answer, because her answer is usually under 2 hours. The fastest she’s seen? 20 minutes.

Melanie Smith is our Strategic Account Coordinator, and she’s the person to call when your order isn’t ordinary.

Most people don’t know they can ask her for these:
✔️ An alternate product when your first choice isn’t available
✔️ Special-order shipping with customer-specific labels or packaging
✔️ Testing reports from manufacturers

When a customer is up against a deadline and the exact item isn’t on the shelf, Melanie finds a match, and sometimes saves them money doing it.

Her take on why customers keep coming back: taking care of people. Hearing their stories and helping them take a first step, or the next one.

Customer Service Week may be over, but we’re still saying thank you, Melanie 🧡

Every shipment had to land the same day. Miss one, and her customer missed the show.

Ground and freight, coming from different locations, all due at a convention center the day before the event. If even one item didn’t arrive, her customer would’ve been out of business for that show.

Karen Robinson, one of our Account Executives with 25+ years in this industry, made it happen. She gives the credit to “a wonderful, supportive team and great communication.”

Her tip, especially if you’re heading into craft fair and holiday market season: check the shelf before you order. Most rush orders start with someone forgetting their other supplies.

Karen’s list of four to check first:
✔️ Paper
✔️ Heat tape
✔️ Waste tanks
✔️ Ink

Miss one and you’re looking at a second order, sometimes expedited freight, and a delay making your products.

Customer Service Week may be over, but we’re still saying thank you, Karen 🧡

Every machine runs live on the 16th, but what you get out of it depends on what you bring. The question you keep googling instead of asking someone who actually builds the machine.

“May I ask you one more question?”

Doug DeWitt on our Product Support Team hears that almost every week. His answer is always the same: go ahead.

So here’s the one he wishes more people asked: how do I price my design time?

Most makers price the blank, the ink and the paper, then forget the 20 or 40 minutes they spent prepping the graphic. Doug’s reminder: your computer time isn’t free.

His 3-step fix:

✔️ Time how long you spend prepping a graphic
✔️ Put a dollar figure on those minutes
✔️ Build it into every quote

Two more things Doug knows better than almost anyone:

🔥 Every heat press has its own personality. Getting one dialed in takes practice and patience.

🖨️ White toner printers are one of the most versatile tools for a home-based business.

Customer Service Week may be over, but we’re still saying thank you, Doug 🧡

“When will my order ship?”

Tracy Fehrenbacher hears that every day in chat, tickets and calls. After almost 30 years in this industry, from fax machines and toner to DTF and sublimation, she’ll tell you the answer usually starts before you place the order.

The costly mistake she sees all the time is waiting until the last minute, then paying to air-ship product that could have gone ground.

Her fix, worth saving before the holiday rush:
✔️ Order before it’s urgent, so ground still works
✔️ Build an order big enough to earn free ground shipping
✔️ Ask for a ship timeline before you commit

Good to know: in-stock orders placed by 5 PM Central ship the same day, and shipping is free on orders over $199.

And when something goes wrong, she fixes it. A customer once ran a product that was too thick through their printer. Tracy and a colleague figured out why, and we paid for the new fuser unit. “I won’t sell you what you don’t need” isn’t a slogan for her.

Thank you, Tracy 🧡

Santa measured your workload. It needed 13 inches. 🎄

Epson just launched the SureColor F370 at PRINTING United this week, and here’s the short version of why it matters.

Most desktop sublimation printers top out at letter width. That’s where full-front shirt designs get split, shrunk, or sent out. The F370 prints 13" wide and up to 47.2" long through the rear feed, so that design fits on one sheet.

What that opens up for your holiday orders:

👕 Full-front shirt prints on one sheet
⛳ Personalized golf towels
🖼️ Bigger photo panels for holiday gifts
🔪 Cutting boards and other rigid blanks

You can also load 170 sheets before you hit print (150 in the front, 20 in the rear), so a batch of teacher gifts runs while you walk away.

It’s $999 with a full set of genuine Epson ink included, plus Wi-Fi. Financing starts as low as $62.44/month.

DTF or DTG? Brenda gets asked this almost every week, so here's the short version:

DTG (direct to garment) prints ink straight onto the shirt. It's best on cotton.

DTF (direct to film) prints onto film first, then heat-presses onto the garment. It works on a much wider range of fabrics.

But Brenda will tell you the method is only half the answer. The other half is which one fits the orders your shop actually runs.

Her money-saving tip: stop paying for overnight shipping. Know how much paper you have today, pick a reorder point before you hit zero, and start with paper, since it's the easiest to track.

That's Brenda. She cares about how an answer lands, not just whether it's technically correct. Happy Customer Service Week, Brenda 🧡

"Can this ship today?"

Kerri gets asked that almost every week. Here's what she does when the answer is no.

A customer had her heart set on one specific printer. Then the manufacturer delayed shipping. Instead of telling her to wait, Kerri found a printer that could do the exact same job and shipped it the very next day. The printer arrived, the job got done, and her customer was happy.

That's why Kerri tells everyone the same 3 things before they buy equipment:

✔️ Ask what ships now, not just what's on your wishlist
✔️ Ask which other printers can do the same job
✔️ Ask about the software side before you commit

And if you're buying for a school, she's your person. District POs, credit terms, separate billing and shipping for every campus: she sorts it out daily with teachers and bookkeepers all over the country.

Happy Customer Service Week, Kerri, and thank you to our whole team 🧡
