The Martinsville Arts Council is currently seeking sponsors for our upcoming production of Sweeney Todd! Each sponsorship level comes with specific benefits that could apply to you! This is a good way to help promote your business, or to simply give back to the community. As we are a nonprofit 501(c)3 we rely on donations and sponsorships to help keep our productions going! Shows like this require a large portion of funding to go to costumes, props, and especially set! It is not too late to contribute and be included in our digital playbills, nor is it too late to be a Season Sponsor as we still have plenty of things lined up for the remainder of the year!

-Season Sponsorships ($1,000 +) get you 15 free tickets to any of our shows in the season lineup, as well as a full page in our playbills AND quarterly social media posts!

-Production Sponsorships ($500 - $1,000) get you 10 free tickets to the sponsored production, as well as a half page in our playbills and at least one social media post!

-Supporting Sponsorships ($100 - $500) get you 5 free tickets to any show in the year lineup, as well as your logo and a mention in our playbills!

-Actor Sponsorships ($50 - $100) get you 2 free tickets to any show in the year lineup, as well as your name in our playbill with a personalized message to an actor up to 150 characters!

Lift your razor high Sweeney, hear it singing yes!

We are officially one month away from opening Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street! Tickets are still on sale and include our added matinee performances on Saturday, July 11th and 18th. Don't miss your chance to see the biggest production ever pulled off at the Depot Theatre!

The show is rated PG-13 for brief language, mild adult themes (including reference to SA), and the use of blood. Loud noises, light effects, and fog/haze will be used in the production. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased on our website or through the link below!

We have officially updated our tickets to add a 2:30 pm matinee on both Saturday, July 11th and Saturday, July 18th! If you previously purchased tickets for July 24th, 25th, or 26th, please check your email as Vice President and Director of Sweeney Todd Zac Speer has reached out to you! Opening night is a little over one month away, and this cast is beyond ready to perform for an audience. Be sure to get your tickets now as they are sure to sell out fast due to adjusted dates!

We would like to issue an update on the Martinsville Arts Council’s upcoming production of Sweeney Todd.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, we would like to welcome Gavin Craig and Logan Laflin to our production as Sweeney Todd and Judge Turpin! We have also had to cancel our closing weekend of shows (Friday, July 24th through Sunday, July 26th) due to this adjustment. We have elected to add a Saturday matinee at 2:30 pm for both Saturday, July 11th and Saturday, July 18th as additional performances. For those who have previously purchased tickets for the three canceled dates, please check your email as Vice President and Director of Sweeney Todd Zac Speer has reached out to you. We deeply sincerely apologize for the cancellation and hope to see you at any of our 8 slated performances. Tickets for the added matinee will go on sale later this week as we adjust our Eventbrite page!

Tickets are officially on sale for our Summer production of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street at the Depot Theatre!!

"An infamous tale, Sweeney Todd, an unjustly exiled barber, returns to nineteenth century London, seeking vengeance against the lecherous judge who framed him and ravaged his young wife. The road to revenge leads Todd to Mrs. Lovett, a resourceful proprietress of a failing pie shop, above which, he opens a new barber practice. Mrs. Lovett's luck sharply shifts when Todd's thirst for blood inspires the integration of an ingredient into her meat pies that has the people of London lining up... and the carnage has only just begun!"

Spring has sprung, but Fall is currently on our mind!!

Youth Director Robb Enlow and Theatre Lead Haley Patrick are currently working on our Youth production for this Fall, and we need YOUR help! We are looking for local legends and ghost stories surrounding Martinsville and Morgan County! If you have a story, comment below and you just might have your tale told in October!
