Apollo Civic Theatre

Apollo Civic Theatre At the Apollo Civic Theatre, we are dedicated to enriching our community by fostering creativity, inclusivity, and connection through the performing arts.

Working together to be a vibrant cornerstone of artistic expression and community pride. INFORMATION ABOUT PARKING: https://www.apollocivictheatre.org/where-to-park/
The theatre is a place where the community can come to relax while watching a favorite play or various activities. It is also a place where people from different walks of life, come together and work on putting together a show and presenting it to the community. Many people have grown up at the Apollo. Some have shared their stories of the dances held in Roseland Ballroom, courting their sweet heart at the movie theatre, or a short lived business college on the third floor’s Throne Hall or just spending their free time at the theatre. The theatre has proved to be one of Martinsburg, Berkeley County and the surrounding area’s most valuable places and those memories will last forever.

Consider this your invitation to dress for the occasion…
Candlelight. Autumn shadows. A perfectly poured martini. A little gothic romance. And, of course, the lingering possibility that Edgar Allan Poe himself may be joining you for the evening.
We’re setting the mood for An Evening With Poe’s Ghost at The Young American Martini Bar, and this moodboard is your inspiration for the night.
Think:
Black lace & velvet
Deep reds, burgundy & w**e tones
Victorian-inspired details
Ravens, roses & a touch of the macabre
Dark, moody cocktail-hour glamour
And anything that might make Poe whisper, “Nevermore.”
Costumes aren’t required.... but dressing for the atmosphere is absolutely encouraged.
On October 29, step inside the last place Poe was seen alive and help unravel the mystery of his suspicious death during an intimate evening of interactive storytelling, history, comedy, music, poetry…and perhaps a spirit or two.
And yes, we mean both kinds of spirits.
Your ticket includes the immersive performance, a Poe-inspired martini, your choice of a hearty autumn savory course, and dessert.
So raid the closet, embrace your inner gothic romantic, and use our mood board to inspire your look.
Come dressed like you have somewhere delightfully mysterious to be. 🖤🐦‍⬛

Before we officially clock out of 9 to 5 The Musical and move on to our next adventure, there are some very important people we need to recognize.
For the last several months, this production has been built by a community of people willing to give their evenings, weekends, creativity, patience, talent, muscles, problem-solving skills, and let’s be honest... probably more than a few actual cups of coffee.
What audiences saw onstage for four performances was the final result of hundreds of hours of work happening long before the first person ever punched the clock at Consolidated Industries.
Sets had to be imagined and built.
Lights had to be designed.
Music had to be learned.
Costumes had to be found.
Choreography had to be taught.
Scenes had to be rehearsed.
Phones had to ring.
Typewriters had to type.
And somehow an entire 1970s office had to appear inside a 1913 theatre.

That is the magic of community theatre.
It isn’t created by one person. It happens when artists, craftspeople, technicians, volunteers, businesses, families, performers, and community members each bring something to the table and together create something none of us could have made alone.
Please help us thank the incredible team who helped bring 9 to 5 The Musical to the Apollo stage:

Director: Aubrey Ervin
Music Director: Jessica Hammersla
Choreographer: Lily Ervin
Stage Manager: Kay Ramis
Scenic Design: Aubrey Ervin
Set Build: Artisan Kitchens
Lighting Design: Charlie Devine & Aubrey Ervin
Sound: Scott Johnson
Costumes: Aubrey Ervin
Photography: Tillman Photography & Emma Shockey

And a very special thank you to Tim Hott and the Erie Insurance crew for rolling up their sleeves and helping us paint the set!

And to everyone who bought a ticket, shared a post, brought a friend, laughed with us, donated, cheered, and filled those seats: thank YOU for clocking in with us.

And now, after one last cup of ambition…Consolidated Industries is officially closed.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this 9 to 5 one we will never forget.
Now somebody please unplug the coffee pot!

TINSWORTHY HAS AN ANNOUNCEMENT…
When the Chairman of the Board has something to say, Franklin Hart usually listens.
And when the man playing him also happens to be Martinsburg Mayor Kevin Knowles… well, we figured we should probably give him the floor.
His message?
TAKE THE AFTERNOON OFF. YOU’VE EARNED IT.
Consolidated Industries is clocking in one final time TODAY at 2:30 PM, and after months of rehearsals, laughter, music, friendships, office chaos, and more than a few questionable management decisions…
today we take our final bow.
Come spend one last afternoon with Violet, Doralee, Judy, Hart, Tinsworthy, and this incredible company of people from our community who have poured so much heart into 9 to 5 The Musical.
One last cup of ambition.
One last round of Dolly.
One last chance to laugh with us.
One final bow.
9 TO 5 THE MUSICAL:FINAL PERFORMANCE

By order of the Chairman of the Board: get those tickets.
(The Mayor, however, would probably like us to clarify that this is not an official city proclamation. 😂)

MEMO FROM MANAGEMENT: THIS IS YOUR FINAL WARNING.

Franklin Hart Jr. would like to remind you that there are now only TWO performances left of 9 to 5 The Musical.

And judging by this photo…
he is not taking procrastination well.

So before Hart schedules another meeting that absolutely could have been an email, go ahead and take care of the important business:
GET. THE. TICKETS.
TONIGHT: 7:00 PM
TOMORROW: 2:30 PM FINAL PERFORMANCE

Tomorrow afternoon, this company takes its final bow, and we would love to fill the Apollo with the people who make community theatre possible......you.
Come for Dolly.
Come for the laughs.
Come for the friendship.
Come see whether Hart survives the women of Consolidated Industries. 😉
Last call, folks. The boss has spoken.

Tonight! What a better way to celebrate Dolly than a night of her music and supporting her cause!

Tonight!
What a better way to celebrate Dolly than a night of her music and supporting her cause!

POUR YOURSELF A CUP OF AMBITION
9 TO 5 THE MUSICAL IS COMING TO THE APOLLO!
Get ready for big laughs, big heart, unforgettable music, and a whole lot of Dolly Parton as 9 to 5 The Musical takes over the Apollo Civic Theatre!

Based on the hit movie and featuring music and lyrics by the one and only Dolly Parton, 9 to 5 follows three very different women: Violet, Doralee, and Judy, who have finally had enough of their sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical boss.

What happens next?
A little revenge.
A lot of friendship.
Some wonderfully outrageous chaos.
1970’s joy…
And three women discovering just how powerful they can be when they stand together.

At its heart, 9 to 5 is about finding your voice, knowing your worth, supporting one another, and having the courage to imagine something better.

And on Friday, 9- 25, we’re taking that message one step further.
SEPTEMBER 25: A SPECIAL NIGHT FOR DOLLY!

Dolly Parton has inspired generations not only through her music and storytelling, but through her incredible commitment to helping children dream big.
We will collect for the cause all weekend, but for our September 25 performance, we’ll be celebrating Dolly and collecting donations in support of Read Aloud West Virginia and Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, helping put books into the hands of young children and encouraging a lifelong love of reading.

So wear a little extra sparkle, bring your Dolly spirit, and help us turn a night at the theatre into something magic that reaches far beyond our stage.
Because what better way to celebrate Dolly than with music, community, and helping the next generation imagine a bigger future?

9 TO 5 THE MUSICAL
September 24, 25, 26 & 27, 2026

Grab your coworkers.
Grab your girlfriends.
Grab the person who has ever dreamed of telling their boss exactly what they think.
Get tickets now, and clock in for one unforgettable night at the historic Apollo!

9 to 5 STRESS? JOSH HAS A SUGGESTION…

It’s OPENING NIGHT at the Apollo, and Violet has a lot on her plate.
A demanding job.
An absolutely terrible boss.
Office drama everywhere she turns.
So naturally, her son decides Mom might need to relax a little.
The solution?
A little “Maui Wowie.”
Violet’s reaction in this photo pretty much says everything you need to know.
And trust us, this is only the beginning of one of the most hilariously unexpected nights Violet, Doralee, and Judy will ever have.

Tonight, all the office chaos, friendship, big dreams, Dolly Parton music, and wonderfully questionable decision-making finally hits the Apollo stage!

9 TO 5 THE MUSICAL OPENS TONIGHT!
Come see why sometimes surviving your 9 to 5 takes good friends, a cup of ambition… and apparently a kid with some very unconventional relaxation advice.
No actual “Maui Wowie” required to enjoy the show. 😉
