Yukon Goldie is just a little spoiled. Yes, these are pictures of her with a big pile of fresh cut grass because she didn't want to go outside.

Because capybaras are giant rodents, they need to do a lot of chewing to keep their teeth healthy. If we don't provide items that she enjoys chewing, she finds things on her own - things like her brother's toys and our walls. So, this week, she is enjoying some indoor grazing on fresh yard yummies. 🌿

Yukon Goldie is looking for partners! We would like to find a local photographer who wants to offer capybara family photos (you may have seen similar things done with highland cows). We would also like to find a yoga studio in Martinsburg, Wi******er, or Hagerstown interested in offering capybara yoga. Goldie is a natural ambassador and loves being around people. She's already been part of yoga classes in Fredericksburg and we would love to do more. Please message us if you're interested!

Goldie had a wonderful time with the residents, staff, and family members at Celebration Villa of Martinsburg on Thursday! This was her first visit to an assisted living facility, and we are hoping to set up similar visits with other local facilities. It was a good experience for all of us!!

One week old turned into six months old so quickly! Time is a thief, even when it comes to baby capybaras. Yukon Goldie the capybara is six months old today, and boy was she giving the old side-eye to the very, very old potato I found in the fridge.
