was lucky to work with a number of talented artists of various different media for this project, and it was the birth of Strength in Numbers Collective.

This year, .artists is bringing its first installation: to Burning Man, and we will be seeking support from our community to help make this vision a reality.

I just submitted the full proposal for “Reclamation of a Stolen Heart”, the art installation I am hoping to bring to this years Burning Man Project with the assistance of their Honoraria program.

This is my first time going through the honoraria selection process, and I am still learning a lot about the scope of doing large scale installations like this out in BRC.. but I am honored to have my art considered regardless of whether or not it is selected. I’m not sure how many installations made it to this round of selection but there were initially over 500 submissions and “Reclamation of a Stolen Heart” is one of the concepts that was asked to submit a full proposal.

In the event that this art installation is selected for the Honoraria Grant, I will be seeking volunteers to assist me in the production and installation of the artwork at this year’s burning man, AND I will have to start some sort of fundraising campaign.. but we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it..

I installed “A Moving Heart” at center camp this year with the knowledge that it could end up growing legs and walking away, as they say..

And low and behold it did! I had the thing screwed in to the kiosk in multiple places, but one determined “burner” decided to quite literally take things into their own hands and give a whole new meaning to the title of my heartwork by ripping it out of the wall and walking away with it.

On one hand I suppose I should be flattered that someone like my art enough to steal it but on the other I’m disappointed that there are still so many people out there who are so willing to disrespect the time and energy that we put into our work as artists.

Im posting this to spread awareness, so if you happen to know any burning man groups that you’d like to share this to, PLEASE DO! I’ve had zero time to decompress in the 1 week that I’ve been back and am finally getting around to sharing this now. Will post of the fun stuff from my trip later but I needed to get this one off my chest first.

“Comp-HEART-mentalized” found a new new home yesterday after hanging out at for the last couple months. It’s always such a pleasant surprise to get a random phone call from someone who wants to buy your art. I am eternally grateful for the opportunity to share my work with the people in our community!

Tonight is the night.. Be sure to come stroll through our first attempt at an official Art Walk in Downtown Martinez!

In celebration of this historic occasion, I will be sprinkling some sculptures across downtown at SOME (not all) of the locations on the map I included. This will be my first attempt at a scavenger hunt type thing and it’s totally last minute so please bare with me as I work out the details. I’m thinking there will be individual raffles for some smaller pieces and then a special mystery raffle that would require you provide prove that you visited ALL 10 LOCATIONS on the map.

ALSO, this will be our first time showing art in The Vault . and I were there until midnight last night setting it up, and we are super happy with the results! At the very least, please be sure to check that out while you’re down there.
