The Old Hargett Store Bluegrass

The Old Hargett Store Bluegrass Bluegrass and Christian music events, social spot along with Living Waters church all under the roof of a historical country store.

We are a store and a community center located at the corner of Landsford Rd and White Store Rd. Complete with a snack shop here we also serve hand dipped ice cream, popcorn and milkshakes.

We had a good time at Hargett Store this past Tuesday night with great food, music and fellowship. It was so awesome to see Mrs. Diane Shackelford back with us. God is so good. Come Tuesday night and enjoy with is.

Wingate – Mrs. Betty Weeks Mills Owens passed away Friday, March 27, 2026, at Autumn Care in Marshville. Born February 4, 1932, in Chesterfield County, she was the daughter of the late William Elijah Weeks and Josephine Small Weeks. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Mr. Billy Mills and Mr. Bill Owens, siblings, William Joseph Weeks, Catherine Carter and a son, William Richard Mills.
Betty graduated from Pageland High School in 1950. She worked as an office assistant at Pageland Elementary School for most of her career. Then she worked at Conbraco in Pageland until she retired in 1990. She married the love of her life, Billy Mills in 1951. After that marriage ended in 1978, she reunited with her high school sweetheart, Bill Owens. They were happily married in 1981. They loved traveling & camping until his death in 1993. After his death, she spent her time visiting the shut-ins from her church, Faulks Baptist, and leading the Faulks senior choir at Autumn Care & Brian Center every week and attending Wednesday morning Bible study. She loved to sing praises to her Lord and study His word until she could no longer see to read. Then she began listening to the Bible on cd’s. She loved attending Hargette Store on Tuesday night listening to gospel music. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, sister, Gamma and aunt who loved her Lord, family and friends.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be 2 PM, Saturday, April 4, 2026, from the graveside at Rose Hill Cemetery, East Catoe Street, Pageland, SC (In front of South Pointe Christian Academy)
Those left to cherish Betty’s memory include her children, Joey Mills (Nina), Catherine Smith, (Keith), Anne Brown (Cleve) and Timothy Mills; stepchildren, Michael Owens, Maria Gulledge (Tommy) and Pat Owens (Sue); 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials made to Alzheimer’s Association, via their website, Faulks Baptist Church or Rose Hill Cemetery, 513 Griggs Street, Pageland, SC 29728.
The family would like to thank Autumn Care of Marshville for their loving care provided for her over many years.
