I don’t gravel vac, 0 hob filters, all internal canister and sponge filter and a weekly or bi weekly water change, and well after a good 8 months or so water gets rather murky. I run a polish system in big tanks for about a day. Super strong pump and lots of filter floss brings it right back to how I want it for about another 8 months. The loach tank where substrate always gets turned about had its polish treatment today.
