Thank you to the Times-Republican for the wonderful write-up regarding the 50th Anniversary of the Martha Ellen Tye Playhouse as well as our upcoming season! We kick off the season with the very first show ever performed at the Playhouse, "You Know I Can't Hear You When the Water is Running". Two of this four-part production will be performed on October 30th.

Auditions are happening today from 2:00-4:00 pm & Monday, August 17th from 5:00-7:00 pm at the in the conference room at the MACC. Please enter through the main doors on the east side of the building and follow the signs.

After six long years, the Marshalltown Community Theater (MCT) will return to the Martha-Ellen Tye Playhouse.

On Oct. 30, in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Martha-Ellen Tye Foundation, MCT cast and crew will put on a two-part production of the four-part "You Know I Can't Hear You When the Water is Running," the first play ever performed in the playhouse.

The 2026-27 season was revealed Thursday night in the lobby of the playhouse. MCT Board Member Pete Grady said the foundation wants to have a special celebration in honor of the reopening of the playhouse, a space he has not seen since the facility sustained significant damage from the 2020 derecho.

The KAA Alumni & Friends Variety Show was welcomed by an enthusiastic audience last night! New talents were introduced to the magic of MCT, and we hope to see some of these new faces in upcoming productions!

If you were unable to attend the event or if you are unfamiliar to the Kids' Acting Academy Summer Theatre Camp through MCT, below is the photography video of all previous years of KAA starting from 2015's production of "Peter Pan" through last year's "Finding Nemo, Jr." It is really fun to see how the students learn and grow through the years. 🤩

Our goal is to share a love of musical theatre to local youth and help build student confidence in the performing arts. In Summer 2027, we hope to do "The Little Mermaid, Jr." If you are interested in making a donation, you may do so at any MCT production by making a directed donation or by mailing to:
