10 years. One unwavering vision. 💜

For the past decade, Amber’s vision, leadership, and constant drive have shaped the Arts + Culture Alliance into what it is today.

Through every move, every new idea, every partnership, challenge, grant, program, and opportunity, Amber has continued to see what could be, and find a way to make it happen.

The ACA is what it is today because of her dedication to the arts, our artists, and this community.

Help us celebrate 10 incredible years of Amber and the impact she continues to make! 🎉

🎨 Welcome back to Marshalltown, Sasha Primo!

Three years after creating the Neighborhood Murals, international artist Sasha Primo has returned to help tell another chapter of Marshalltown’s story—this time at the new Downtown Pocket Park at 101 West Main Street!

Sasha’s concept, What the Tree Leaves, draws inspiration from the tree canopy lost following the 2018 tornado and 2020 derecho, while celebrating the growth, renewal and resilience that have followed. 🌱

At the heart of the space will be a colorful sculptural canopy providing shade, interaction and a new place for our community to gather.

And this is just Phase One! Sasha’s artwork will serve as the anchor for a space that will continue to evolve with landscaping, seating, interactive elements and more.

This project is coming to life through partnership with the City of Marshalltown, Marshalltown Central Business District and Marshalltown Parks & Recreation, along with the many community members who have helped shape the vision.

👋 You’ll see Sasha working on site over the coming weeks—stop by, say hello and watch it come to life!

More to come as we work toward Spring 2027!
