Many people know this now, but if it's not known: Bob Untiedt (me) the Director of the Orpheum, will be leaving the organization at the end of October, 2020. I've got to be closer to his mother, who has decided not to get YOUNGER as she ages. But the Orpheum has been for me a place of great beauty, and I've especially enjoyed being with (last year, around 11,800) people of Marshalltown, who are good folks. Thanks to everyone who helped make it what it has been for the last decade or more; and thanks to everyone who supported us - businesses, individuals, especially the board of the Friends of the Orpheum Theater, who worked pretty hard every year to pay for ALL of the artists, and make improvements in lighting and sound. I am deeply grateful for the beauty I've witnessed here, and the fun it's been to lead this place. I'll miss it a lot.

From Zoom meetings with 40+ cultural groups across the state (mostly much bigger than the Orpheum), I've heard reports that on-line programming has lost a good amount of attendance since it started in April. What do you think? It's not likely that the Orpheum could do much on-line, but if we did, would you check it out?
