❓What was your favorite role/production and where was it?

This week, it’s Captain Hook in the musical version of Peter Pan at Tibbits

❓What’s a quirky fact we don’t know about you?

I have mentioned in the past my huge collection of plays. Well, the original cast albums of Broadway musicals now number 1115. It’s still growing and that doesn’t count all the recording of Broadway singers doing their own albums….

❓Why should audiences come see our production of Spring Awakening?

I was first drawn to Spring Awakening by the score. The songs are incredibly evocative and as far away from that ‘traditional Broadway’ sound as you can get. I eventually found and read the libretto. The writers had transformed a creaky old play into a timeless coming of age story. As the kids move from youth to young adults their journey is at turns joyous, traumatic, exhilarating and harrowing. You know, just like life…

This is my first time working with Great Escape.

❓What was your favorite role/production ever and where was it?

Nifty Fifties is a silly, cheap production that I worked with at a nearby High School, and that one has always had a special place in my heart.

❓What's a fun fact that we don't know about you?

I am an avid harmonica player.

The music is memorable and colorful, and implements popular genre style to express a deep, meaningful plot. The Great Escape crew has connected deeply with Spring Awakening, turning the musical into a meaningful, polished passion-project worth watching.

❓What was your last production at GESC?

This is my debut!

❓What was your favorite role/production ever and where was it?

Cassidy in The Lysistrata Project at Q***r Theatre Kalamazoo! I was lucky enough to be in the premiere cast along with Orange who’s playing Otto!

❓What's a fun fact that we don't know about you?

I love styling wigs and sewing costumes in my spare time! I love a good trip to the ren faire with a theme!

I think it’s a really powerful show and a lot of the issues it discusses are still relevant today, so audiences can still find a meaningful connection with the text!
