You know those cute little porch signs that say, “Oh, hello!” …I needed the alternate version 😅

I get so tired of people knocking incessantly on the door. I realize it’s their job, but it’s my house. I neither want whatever they’re selling, nor do I want to listen to their spiel about whatever product or service.

At my little house in Slater, I had made a sign that said “Go away”. My mom said I couldn’t have a sign that said “F*ck off.” 🥲

After an incident where I nearly made a Jehovah’s Witness curse when I was in a hurry and flung the door open and scared him, I decided I also needed a sign for this house. It’s been a project I’ve put off for a while, and it’s not my best work, but it will hopefully do what I need it to. 😇

I messaged my friend, Julissa, and asked what the kids’ birthday themes were going to be this year so I could paint them a banner again. Ava chose Chili the pibble 🐾, Dade chose basketball 🏀, and Adaline tells her mom “Pancake”. I’m thinking, “Sweet, pancakes are easy.” ….Forgot Pancake is their little sh*t of a pony 🤣 🐎

I am behind, so this banner was placed on the back burner until last minute… like, maybe the morning of the party. I don’t feel the need to describe Justin using a hair dryer on it while I was showering and me painting the final details on it while literally walking out the door to be 20 minutes late to the triple birthday party 🥳🤣

Kordynn was THRILLED Julissa took her to ride on the horseys and was VERY upset we would not take a cat home with us. 😅 Kordynn keeps telling me we need to go back to the “happy party” (Happy birthday/birthday party) and Julissa was like, “She’s right, it was a happy party.” 🤣

Sometimes… things don’t go according to plan. I’m solo parenting and none of my children wanted to sleep last night, which is totally fine, but I was a little worried about painting a straight line while feeding a baby. They took turns being awake, so I snuggled them and gave up on working. Kindof just going with the flow over here ✌🏻

Speaking of things not going according to plan, I stressed myself out with this banner and I’m finally ready to talk about it 😅

I painted this banner once for Quinnley’s 1st birthday…. But as it dried, I think it dried too quickly due to the heat and began cracking. I returned home from the State Fair and I tried to touch it up, but decided I would just paint it again- mind you, her party was the next morning. I texted Quinnley’s mom and told her what happened, she was entirely understanding, very sweet, and told me the first banner would be completely fine. However, if I wouldn’t use it at my own party, I’m not going to send it to someone else’s party to be used. I very much strive to be honest and committed to providing the best experience possible- I especially don’t want to be at fault for ruining a first birthday. 😅

I snapped a picture of the finished and dried banner in the morning, got an approval, tucked the banner gently in the car, and dropped it off before the family left to go decorate for the party. Dad put the banner into their car before the “kids messed it up”, which I also can relate to. 🤣 I was so incredibly nervous about the second banner doing the same thing and not having enough time to paint another banner in time for the party later that day. I hope this silly little goose had a perfect first birthday 🎉 🪿

I have a long to-do list to accomplish tonight and I’m determined to complete it. 😏 I am behind- yes, yes, we’re all shocked-, but working on slowly closing the gap! Trying to focus on small bites so that I don’t overwhelm myself. 😅

Since I’m not doing booths this year, I was thinking about doing a wood slice ornament sale prior to Christmas? I have several families that purchase the wood slice ornaments every year and I’d be happy to still provide that. I’m not sure if I would paint them beforehand and let people choose from ones I paint (personalization could be available), or just take custom orders. Thoughts?

I had a friend send me a picture she took of a sign available at a well known craft store and asked me to recreate it. I drew this design out (I traced my crockpot lid for the oval- don’t ever underestimate my ability to be resourceful 🤣.) and instead of having a bunch of small bows in the background, I painted one big bow. 🎀 This will hang in her daughter’s room. 🩷

Samantha was kind enough to let me steal her picture from Hudson’s party- you can see I was wrestling the wind for the pictures I made my brother take 😅 (He complained the last time I posted pictures that he took without “proper credit” and I don’t want to listen to him whine.)

The party was so cute and I think all of the blues matched from the desserts to the decor! So fun! I am incredibly behind on sharing items I’ve completed, so if you’re waiting on me to share yours, eventually I’ll get there 🤣

I finished quite a few tasks last night (this morning?) and I’m looking forward to Justin getting home so I can continue to mark steps I’ve completed off of my list. 🖊️ ✔️

Fall is kicking off with some busy weekends! What do you look forward to most about this season?

Eeeee! I’m so eager to share this one!

I was given “pink checkered print, Iris Marie, Iris flowers” and trusted to create a unique nursery sign. 💜

I was a little nervous, but I am so happy with how it came out! It isn’t without flaws, but I try to improve with every single item I make. I can sit and point out imperfections all day long throughout my work, but it’s one of a kind and handmade with love.

This is the first frame I didn’t send a nail through the front or back of the sign and have to fix it 🙂

A few things:

The sooner you get ahold of me for Christmas items, the better. I am in charge of creating holiday magic for three little girls and I take that very seriously. I will be cutting off orders sooner than normal because they don’t deserve a mommy that is stressed out the entirety of the holiday season.

I am behind (shocking, I know), but I’m filling my kitchen and dining room with the next round of items I need to complete. On average, I’m completing about one order a night- your turn is coming! ❤️🤍💙

Kindof obsessed with how this nursery sign came out 🖤🩶🤍 🐎

Momma is due in about a month and every baby deserves a personalized area just for them 🤍 I just did what I wanted after I was provided a theme 😆 My idea was to have a bandana type patterned background and I wanted the sign to be neutral colors to fit whatever space it ended up in. I painted the bandana pattern first, so when I painted baby’s name, the letters became textured with the background pattern. It reminds me of the decorative ceiling tiles in old buildings- I love it.

I wish I had some other photos, but my photographer was in a hurry. The photo of the sign before it was framed can be zoomed in on to see it, hopefully. I’m obsessed with the freedom you guys are allowing me to use on name signs!!

I’m juggling a long list of items right now, so I’m doing my best to get them done after the girls go to sleep for the night. I’ve made pretty good progress the last couple nights! I can’t wait to share them 😍

I was sent a message from a daughter of one of my previous teachers. She told me that unfortunately her parents had received devastating news that the mass found on their pupper’s neck was, in fact, a rare form of cancer. He was given 1-2 months to live after the cancer continued to spread, even after a surgery in which they tried to remove all of it. She asked me to make something that they could stamp his paw print on before he passed. I’ve mentioned several times that I don’t paint super realistically, but she trusted me to paint in my style. Obviously, this was a rush order and got moved to the top of the list, but I didn’t get it done before they had to make the decision to let him go. He took a drastic turn one night and they knew they needed to say goodbye. It had been less than two weeks. 😭 She had taken a photo of his paw print and I left a 4x4 area to clip the photo. However, they ended up being able to display a stamp of his paw print there instead.

I’ve had to make the decision to let my soul dog go, and I can relate to these stories. Chaos has been gone for nearly five years and I will never forget that night. It was such a horrible feeling making the decision to let my boy go, but I knew it was the right choice. I wish I would have been stronger and let Titan go peacefully, too. No dog deserves to suffer.

Big Al should have had a much longer time on this Earth to be spoiled and loved. His family gave him an amazing life. I’m honored to have been asked to create a memorial for such a dog with a larger-than-life personality. 🌈

I made my dad come look at some issues with our house late last year (he loves “This Week’s Episode of ‘WTF is Wrong with Our House’”). He contacted two of his friends, and the three of them worked hard one day fixing the house the month before I had the twins. It was a huge weight off of our shoulders and we are so appreciative.

Now, it’s taken me a while to get these ‘thank yous’ done, but I’ve gotten them both delivered. 😅

For RJ and Stephanie, they just opened a business in Holden, so I made a 3 ft by 3 ft framed logo sign. RJ decided exactly where he was going to hang it 30 seconds after I had arrived there to drop it off. 🤣 The place looks great!

For Andy and Debbie, I wood burned a sign that was 1 ft by 2 ft and then framed. This sounds small… aside from the fact that it took longer than the larger sign 🤣 Smaller, yes. Less work, no. ❤️

Late post- I’ve been busy. If you’re waiting on something, it’s probably on my “to paint” list because that step has 24 items currently listed on it…

Harrison’s mom asked me to paint a sign for his nursery that could grow with him and what I’m sure will be ever changing interests as he ages. I decided on black and white with a dark frame- timeless simplicity. 🖤 This sign should be able to fit any future room theme, as well as the current cow nursery theme! 🐮
