Late post- I’ve been busy. If you’re waiting on something, it’s probably on my “to paint” list because that step has 24 items currently listed on it…

I will be working on several large items this week to get them out the door.

If you have banners scheduled with me for this month, and have not provided me with a theme/colors/saying, please message me. 🙂

Harrison’s mom asked me to paint a sign for his nursery that could grow with him and what I’m sure will be ever changing interests as he ages. I decided on black and white with a dark frame- timeless simplicity. 🖤 This sign should be able to fit any future room theme, as well as the current cow nursery theme! 🐮

Hiiiiiii, can you take a second to look at this sign I made? ☺️ I’m really proud of it!

I was sent a screenshot from ChatGPT of an address sign someone really liked. I drew it out after I joined some boards together and cut it out with my jigsaw. After I sanded and stained it, I zoomed in closer to the ChatGPT photo. What I had initially thought when I had priced the sign out was that there was a thick wire stapled as an outline of the sign… I zoomed in and realized that it was actually a frame. 🥴 Oof. I was so frustrated with myself. I verified she’d like her sign framed, and drew the frame out and cut it, too. Then, I sanded and stained.

My husband (oh ye of little faith) asked if I bought it to paint on! Which is a huge compliment, but, also, like, rude ‘cause I spent all that time making it 🤣😅 My mom was impressed. ☺️

After I painted the sign, distressed it, and lettered it, I sent a photo for the customer to approve or request changes. It was a little too distressed, so I had to repaint it, redistress it, and reletter it. After I received approval to seal, it received several coats of sealant and I dropped it off today!

I’ve included photos of the sign after I built the frame, the overly distressed sign, the finished product, and the screenshot I was sent!

🤘 💀 🏁 ⚡️
So thrilled to have been asked to paint this nursery sign! I was sent a photo of Kade’s bedding and told to “do my thing”. Here is the thing 🤎🖤🩶

I wish I would have taken a photo of the sheer amount of TAPE I used to make the checkered print. Checkering a sign is a ton of work, but always worth it. 🏁

Thank you for providing me an opportunity to be creative and build something one of a kind for Kade’s nursery 🤎🖤🩶

I have been at the State Fair all day 🥵 (I did not wear strong enough deodorant for the heat index today- and neither did anyone else). I’ll respond to messages when I get a chance- and after a very cold shower. 🎡

You’re kidding?!?? I’m SO EXCITED about this nursery sign!! 🦚 This has got to be one of my top favorites to date 🥹

A momma got ahold of me for a nursery sign before they had known Allison was an Allison! We were due about the same time, so she knew her sign would get done after our babies arrived! I’m thrilled to finally have finished and delivered it! 🥰

I am obsessed with the nursery theme! I feel like the peacocks are such a unique, pretty theme! 🦚 💚🩵💜💙 I love when I’m given the bare minimum and told to run with it 🦚

I was asked to paint banners for the Holden kindergarten team! I was sent an example she liked with school supplies around the frame, but she had asked if I could make each banner match each teacher’s room theme. We had sunshine, space, neutral rainbows, and monsters! They had them in time for Back to School Night when they met their new little minds to shape! The simplicity of the sunshine is my favorite, but the fun space one is a close second!

Finishing up some large items today- about four of them! That will clear out a lot of my dining room, but not all of it! Stay tuned. 😅

I was up until four this morning working on items and I didn’t get nearly as far as I wanted to. I will be finishing up several large items tonight and the next couple of days. 🤞🏻

There was a post made in one of my hometown’s community groups by a woman looking for someone to make an engraved address sign. There were several tags for my personal page and my business page- I just think that’s so cool. 🥹 I appreciate those whom thought of me. 🫶🏻 Anyway, I don’t do engraved signs, but she messaged my business page and liked the look of the wood burned signs I make. I was sent a photo from ChatGPT. I would like to be very clear that, while I will try to match your inspiration photo as much as possible, it’s a computer generated image and I don’t have anything on the perfection of a computer.

I included photos of the sign through different stages of the process. I picked up lumber, measured it, cut it, assembled it with a biscuit joiner (that I borrowed from my dad because mine quit, but might not return it, thanks daddy 🤣), drew the shape needed, cut out the shape with my jigsaw, sanded it, wood burned the lettering and border, mixed a custom stain, stained it, and sealed it with several coats of spar urethane to protect it from the weather. ☀️

They only sat in the very middle of the nursery until I hung them up 😬

I picked up lumber Monday and I’m working on finishing up some signs. I have not had it in me to go HAM the past couple days on items like I was. I’ll pick back up after tomorrow.

I still haven’t figured out the delivery issue yet.

My counters in my kitchen and my dining room table are covered in orders. 😬 I’ll be clearing those as soon as possible because I’d like those spaces back 😅 Keep an eye on your inboxes. ❤️🤍💙

I’m in the process of making a few changes, one of which is a delivery fee if I’m bringing an order to you. Some people ruin things for everyone else, and this has been a long time coming, anyway. I have to take into consideration the amount of gas I use, the wear and tear on my car, etc. I haven’t quite figured out how I’m going to do it, and it’s been a difficult decision to make, but the audacity of customers sometimes pushes me over the edge. 🥴

I’m constantly trying to balance fair price to customers and making it worth it for me. I’ve been staying up until between 3-5 in the morning working on orders, and I’m still trying to catch up. On top of that, some customers haven’t been satisfied with their orders, so I’ve had to redo some work.

I would like to reiterate that I do everything by hand. I go to the lumber yard (bully the guys there until I get the perfect boards- they love to see me coming), haul the lumber home, measure out what I need, cut it down, sand it down (the worst), wood burn it (takes hours), stain it, paint it, letter it, detail it, seal it (multiple coats), add hangers to it, and THEN schedule a time for it to be picked up or delivered. I do not have anything on the perfection of a laser engraver or ChatGPT, none of my work is perfect (I’m constantly learning), but I do make everything from scratch and pack it with love along the way.

This sign was painted for a nursery. Originally, I was asked to paint the background light pink. I did so, but then I was sent photos of their adorable nursery and asked to paint it a dusty pink. She apologized profusely, but I honestly know better than to not ask someone to be more specific at this point. The shade of color matters, and I mixed this pink especially for this sign. Something I’m realizing I enjoy more and more is to take the time to mix together the color needed. I was able to hand the sign directly to the parents to be and that is always a good feeling to see someone’s reaction to my work. 🫶🏻

Daltie got married a little over a year ago. 🥹 He and his wife 💍 had their wedding reception a few weekends ago. I was incredibly disappointed that we had planned on attending and then weren’t able to make it. ☹️

I had messaged Kristina Barney before the event and offered to paint a banner for their big day. I wasn’t sure if she would care for one since I know banners aren’t “fancy”, but she said she told Dalton she didn’t want to be fancy. She wanted to be authentic, and fancy wasn’t her. She said their decorations were blue, and… that’s it. I handled the rest. 😉🩵 I figured she didn’t need anything else on her plate and I can take care of a banner design. 🤚🏻

As for their wedding gift, I used the same colors from the banner on their sign. I hope when they see it, it makes them think about the day they were able to celebrate with their friends and family… the parts they can remember, at least. 😂 A little birdie told me they shut down the local bar 😂 but made lots of memories. 🩵

Wishing the newlyweds an amazing life together. 🩵

I’m aiming for a delivery day on Friday for items I’ve gotten completed.

Yay! I get to share these! They were requested for a baby shower that was held this weekend. I received a screenshot of a sign on the registry and received a photo of the baby’s cow print blanket. I was told to make it my own and use my own creativity. (My pleasure- say no more.)

I based the name sign off of the baby’s blankie, but with his whole name. I used lettering with a western feel. The cow print I painted was definitely a trust the process, but I think it turned out well. 🐮

The small framed sign was inspired by the screenshotted registry sign. The original sign was black and white with the quote in script. I burned the quote in lettering to match the baby’s name sign and added the little cowboy boots with contrasting wood stains for the quote and the frame. 🐮

I hope they were received well. Especially because I was working on several nursery signs at once and grabbed the wrong one. By the time I realized I painted cow print on the 4 foot sign instead of the 3 foot sign… it was too late. I didn’t want to chop off or sand off my hard work, so I just left it as is once I got the ok from the customer. Who doesn’t love a statement sign? (In my defense, it was almost two in the morning.)

With the cooler weather, I am trying to get back on track with items. Please hang tight, I am one person with three very young children. 😉
