Mariposa County Fair Rodeo Royalty

Mariposa County Fair Rodeo Royalty Our competition is open to girls ages 6-25, who live within 150 miles of our courthouse. Current Queen Desiree and Princess Emma will retain their titles.

It is our intent to produce a fair & balanced contest, & to foster an environment in which young ladies can grow confidence & skills as public speakers & horsewomen. The Mariposa County Fair is held over Labor Day Week End and on Sunday we have a Rough Stock Rodeo, produced by Rock’n M. Our Rodeo Royalty typically consists of Jr Princess, Princess and Queen and a Royalty Court. The contest and coo

rdination of our royalty is administered by the Mariposa Friends of the Fairgrounds Foundation, a 501c3 non profit. Application deadline for the contest is typically the first Sunday in June. Contestants should have good horsemanship skills, knowledge of Mariposa, the sport of rodeo and western rural lifestyle. Full details are included in the application and is available on line at mariposafair.com or mariposafof.com or mariposamtnriders.com

Unfortunately due to not having enough contestants to run a viable contest we will not be having a contest this year. If you would like these young ladies to make an appearance at your event please notify us! We are selling raffle tickets for the Friends of the Fairgrounds for a $1,000 give away at the Rodeo on September 4, 2022. You do not need to be present to win. Check out our fb page for updates. Looking forward to our next contest year! Applications will be available in April, deadline is first Sunday in June. Thanks for your support! Jr. Princess Bobbie Persson is having a great morning at Magnolia Elementary School in Oakdale! She’s going to be presenting to multiple classes today about rodeo queens and our Mariposa fair; the kids were especially curious about her chaps and asked her to demonstrate how to put them on! Great job Bobbie 💕

Sunburnt and caffeinated! My office for the day is the announcer’s booth at the Calaveras Rodeo Queen horsemanship competition. Thank you Suzanne Butler for allowing me this opportunity, and thank you to Mother Lode Round-Up Queen KaeLee Gates for stepping in as my partner!

A long day is winding down at the Mother Lode Round-Up! Started the morning with the parade at 10AM, followed by the PRCA rodeo performance. Tomorrow is going to be full too, but it’s my favorite time of year, so you won’t find me complaining any time soon! 😁

Last night Bobbie and I attended the Mother Lode Round-Up Queen coronation and Calcutta events at Black Oak Casino! Congratulations to all three contestants, and newly crowned Mother Lode Round-Up Queen KaeLee Gates. I wish I’d been able to get more photos, but as emcee for the evening, my hands were a little full. But not to worry; there will be plenty more pictures taken this weekend at the annual Mother Lode Round-Up!

Yesterday was another double-appearance day for Bobbie and me! We started with the Mariposa Chamber Butterfly Parade at 10, and made it back to Jamestown for the Mother Lode Round-Up Queen onstage competition at 2. Thank you SO much to Tessa Lynn Persson and Samuel Persson for hauling, and also to Melanie Canepa for loaning Bubba to me. He was fantastic and the kids loved him. As for the queen contest, all three girls did a phenomenal job, and I can’t wait to watch the crowning this Thursday night!
