Mariposa County Fair Rodeo Royalty

Mariposa County Fair Rodeo Royalty Our competition is open to girls ages 6-25, who live within 150 miles of our courthouse. Current Queen Desiree and Princess Emma will retain their titles.

It is our intent to produce a fair & balanced contest, & to foster an environment in which young ladies can grow confidence & skills as public speakers & horsewomen. The Mariposa County Fair is held over Labor Day Week End and on Sunday we have a Rough Stock Rodeo, produced by Rock’n M. Our Rodeo Royalty typically consists of Jr Princess, Princess and Queen and a Royalty Court. The contest and coo

rdination of our royalty is administered by the Mariposa Friends of the Fairgrounds Foundation, a 501c3 non profit. Application deadline for the contest is typically the first Sunday in June. Contestants should have good horsemanship skills, knowledge of Mariposa, the sport of rodeo and western rural lifestyle. Full details are included in the application and is available on line at mariposafair.com or mariposafof.com or mariposamtnriders.com

Unfortunately due to not having enough contestants to run a viable contest we will not be having a contest this year. If you would like these young ladies to make an appearance at your event please notify us! We are selling raffle tickets for the Friends of the Fairgrounds for a $1,000 give away at the Rodeo on September 4, 2022. You do not need to be present to win. Check out our fb page for updates. Looking forward to our next contest year! Applications will be available in April, deadline is first Sunday in June. Thanks for your support! We had a great time at the Columbia Father’s Day Fly-In on Saturday. I was honored to sing the National Anthem and got to spend the morning with Jr. Princess Bobbie. We also met a contestant vying for the Tuolumne Lumber Jubilee Queen title.

Thank you to everyone who made this possible—Tonya Scheftner, Mark Grauer, and Jim Stenger. I am so appreciative! Thank you for welcoming me back to this wonderful event!

I was so grateful this morning to head into the Central Sierra Broadcasting (formally Clarke Broadcasting) studios to be a guest speaker on Star 92.7 KZSQ and 93.5 KKBN! Thank you to Tonya Scheftner for setting this up, and a huge thanks to Mark Grauer and Alisha Rock for allowing me this exciting opportunity to highlight the Columbia Father’s Day Fly-In event that my royalty court and I will be attending tomorrow. It was an absolute pleasure and I can’t say thank you enough!

It was so incredible to see the return of cowboy culture at the Merced Western Heritage Foundation Rodeo last night! Thank you so much to Doug and Kelley Aue for having me and allowing me to run flags. I wish we could have made it back for tonight’s performance, but God had other plans. Our truck blew its fuel line on the way home and is in the shop until further notice…

On that note, thank you so much to KaeLee Gates for picking up our trailer and for getting Mom, Maverick, and myself home! Also, thank you to Sydney Sampson for staying with us until the tow truck came. And a massive thank you to the City of Merced Fire Department for getting an engine out to make sure our truck was safe to be moved. Not how I thought the weekend would go, but it’s definitely one I won’t forget!
