It is with great sorrow that we inform our Club Members and other fellow players that one of our great friends and fellow player/field owner Bill has passed. Services tomorrow 12/16/2020 are Visitation 10am-12pm and Funeral at 12pm.
William “Butch” Atkinson, 76, passed away at 10:07 am on Friday, December 11, 2020, at Marion General Hospital. He was born to the late Oren and Mary (Stegemoller) Atkinson on October 10, 1944.

Bill graduated from Mississinewa High School in 1962 and Ball State University in 1988. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam and achieved the rank of SP4. Following his military service, he worked in shipping at Owens-Illinois until the plant closed.

Bill was a lover of sports. He had played softball, coached football and baseball in the 3-Way Recreation League over 15 years, as well as coached Legion baseball. He was also an avid paintball player. He loved his Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears, and Indiana Hoosiers. He was a loving husband and father; family was very important to him.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sharon; sons, Bill (Tamera) and Christopher, both of Marion, and Douglas (Rebecca) of Yorktown; sister, Sharon (Don) Foreman of Greenwood; grandchildren: Ripley, Hamish, and Aila Atkinson; Sarah Drake; Joni McPherson; and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon on Wednesday, December 16, 2020, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.

Immediately following the time of visitation, a funeral service to celebrate Bill’s life will begin at 12:00 noon. Chaplain Nanci Rosinski will be officiating with entombment taking place at Gardens of Memory in Marion.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Ole Miss Youth Sports, 211 E. Main St., Gas City, IN 46933.

The family would like to thank Dr. Kavita Raj, nurses, and doctors in the Emergency Department and Critical Care for their loving care of Bill.

Just a real quick post for those interested in playing Paintball this year. WWPC is hoping to get started with field clean up very soon, as soon as mother nature starts to treat it more like spring! So anyone willing to help with clean up please let Bill @ 765-661-3802 (call only) or Corey 765-661-4541 (call or text) know. The more help we have the sooner we can play as the field is heavily damaged from the last couple winters with no one to do clean up.

Happy Easter from WWPC.

I've been away for a while. I had a bad year in 2017 with my back. Hoping for a better 2018 and I am planning to get WWPC going again. We are about half way through with winter and it will be spring before we know it. When the weather does break we can get to cleaning up the field and fixing the damage of a couple years of no repair. When spring comes we will be looking for people to help with clean up. If you plan on playing we ask that you contribute to field clean up and prep. Keep an eye out for updates on our page. We are looking forward to a better 2018 and getting back on the field.

Happy Valentine's Day to All WWPC followers (and anyone else interested in playing Paintball). Today I write to you for the 1st time this year. We know last year there was not enough interest from our followers to get the field ready and play so for many reasons we took off last season. This year we hope to change that and have lots of interest and plan to get you all together this spring to do field clean up and start a regular Paintball season. Be watching for more frequent posts and updates as far as when we will be doing clean up. And as always we will get back to playing on Sunday's when the weather permits (and the field is cleaned up). Paintball Season is Coming, Paintball Season is Coming at Woodsball Warriors Paintball Club! That means we will soon be doing field clean up to get the field ready for play. We usually do clean up on Sunday afternoons but may get a Saturday in there from time to time. Watch WWPC page for updates for when we will be doing clean up or when we will start field play. Tomorrow Sunday Sept 13 is a play day. We will be playing paintball. Anyone is welcome to come join in the fun. We are only out for fun and you couldn't ask for a better group of people. We get started about 12:30 and usually play to around 6:00. We have players of all ages come to the field from 10 and up. We even have a couple players in their 70's.
