I am back after a much needed break to enjoy the final days of summer! Now I am ready to embrace all the beauty and joys of autumn as we finish out August and welcome September. While I pick up where I left off in the studio, please know my Etsy shop is back open again and ready to shop. Stay tuned for some special announcements coming this week!

This and another new piece are headed over to DKW Art Gallery & Studios for an upcoming show. I love how this one turned out. Water has always been a favorite of mine and I typically paint still water, but this piece was fun with it having movement to capture.

The Etsy shop is on vacay mode and so am I. I have a handful of freelance projects requiring my attention and wanting to squeeze the last little drops out of summer. My Etsy shop will reopen September 1st, 2026.

I may give a few updates here or there on my break about the projects on my table, so do check back.

Sunday is my favorite day for catching up. Catching up around the house, the garden, the studio and most of all with family. After a full week of long hours juggling all of it and being on the run, Sunday is the perfect day to take it slow. After last Sunday at the Palo's Farmer's Market, I really needed to play catch-up today.

Sometimes I don't think people understand the incredible amount of work it takes to do even a 5 hour market. I put in 1-2 weeks of prep just making product for my booth. Everything I sell is made by hand by me and me alone. It takes a lot of time and love. ❤️ Waking up at 5 am the day of to pack and load the car. The 1 1/2 to unload and set up everything. The time spent at the market in the elements (of the 3 farmers markets I have done so far this year - either rain, wind or extreme heat put a damper on it). The hour it takes to pack and load up. And the 1 1/2 hours it takes to unload the car again once home.

For all that work, sometimes I'll have 2 customers and other times I might have 10. At the end of the day I appreciate whoever stops in my booth to take time to look and buy. The support is appreciated more than you know. This year has been extremely slow, so I do appreciate those you make a purchase, big or small.

I do have one more farmers market this year and I am really excited for it. I will have some new things I am bringing and I hope others will be excited about it too. In the meantime, as I share these new things, I ask that you help me out by engaging with my posts. I am not big into social media and it seems the social media gods recognize that as my posts don't seem to get seen by most. A 'like', a comment or share goes a long way. And as I gear up for the final markets of the summer, I appreciate the support.

Just a reminder that my next market won't be until September 12th at DKW Gallery and Studio and then a farmers market on the 13th at Palo Farmers Market . I took some time tonight to go out and enjoy the beautiful sunset tonight, but will be back in the studio tomorrow working on more new pieces to fill the shop and my booths for upcoming markets.

The newest work off the easel. This piece captures the natural beauty of hibiscus, but on a deeper level, represents the relationship between two people. The attraction of one to the other and the bond that holds them together. This piece was something I challenged myself with as I normally do not use red.
