On Friday, August 29th, the Marion Concert Band will close its 2025 season with a concert in the style of the Boston Pops Orchestra. The program includes selections by Boston Pops arranger Leroy Anderson and former Pops conductor John Williams.

The concert, under the direction of Tobias Monte, will begin at 7:00 at the Robert Broomhead Bandstand, Island Wharf off Front Street in Marion.

On Friday, August 22nd the Marion Concert Band continues its Friday evening concert series with a program of music based on two themes. The first half of the program will feature soundtrack music from a variety of motion pictures and TV shows. The second half of the program will be feature movie music with a “space” theme.

The concert will be held at the Robert Broomhead Bandstand, Island Wharf off Front Street in Marion. The program, under the direction of Tobias Monte, will begin at 7:00. All concerts are free and open to the public.

On Friday, August 15th, the Marion Concert Band continues its Friday evening concert series with a program of music from the Broadway stage. The program will include highlights from some of Broadway’s most memorable shows.

The concert will be held at the Robert Broomhead Bandstand, Island Wharf off Front Street in Marion. The program, under the direction of guest conductor, Philip Sanborn, will begin at 7:00. All concerts are free and open to the public.

The Marion Concert Band will present a Latin-American “Festival” of music on Friday, August 8th. The diverse program includes music from Mexico, Spain, Brazil, and the Caribbean, as well as familiar music that demonstrates the influence that Latin-American musical styles have had on American popular music. To add to the festive atmosphere of the evening, the audience is encouraged to wear tropical or Latin-American attire.

The Marion Concert Band continues its summer concert series with a program of music from the British Isles on Friday, August 1. The program features several classic British Brass Band pieces as well as the music of Petula Clark, Gerry and the Pacemakers, and the Beatles. There may even be an appearance by members of the Cape Cod British Car Club, LTD (CCBCC).

The Cape Cod British Car Club, LTD (CCBCC) is a Massachusetts not-for-profit corporation whose membership annually exceeds 250. While members come from all over the world, most members are residents of southern New England. CCBCC members enjoy driving and displaying their English automobiles. Throughout the year the CCBCC participates in events and raises funds for scholarship purposes. Annually the club provides scholarships to automotive and auto body students at the Upper Cape Regional Technical School, the South Plymouth High School and the Cape Cod Regional Technical School. The club also provides funds towards a specific scholarship program available to Falmouth High School students.

The concert, under the direction of Tobias Monte, will begin at 7:00, weather permitting, at the Robert Broomhead Bandstand, Island Wharf off Front Street in Marion. All concerts are free and open to the public.

On Friday, July 18, the Marion Concert Band continues its Friday evening concert series with a program of American popular music. The program features a trumpet soloist and a variety of pop styles from the 1900's to the present.

The 2025 Season will begin tomorrow on Friday, July 4th with our first concert - An Independence Day Celebration.

The concert will be held at the Robert Broomhead Bandstand, Island Wharf off Front Street in Marion. The program will be conducted by Phil Sanborn and will begin at 7:00. All concerts are free and open to the public.

On Friday, August 30, the Marion Concert Band will close its 2024 season with a concert in the style of the Boston Pops Orchestra. The program includes a tuba soloist and selections by Boston Pops arranger Leroy Anderson and former Pops conductor John Williams.

Reece Ashley is an active tubist in Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts. Along with the Marion Concert Band, Reece has performed with many ensembles including the the Washington Commanders Marching Band, the Cape Ann Symphony Orchestra, the Longwood Symphony Orchestra, the Metrowest Symphony Orchestra, the Tri Country Symphonic Band, and many more. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Tuba Performance from Rhode Island College, and is attending the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, pursuing a master’s degree in Tuba Performance.

The concert, under the direction of Tobias Monte, will begin at 7:00 at the Robert Broomhead Bandstand, Island Wharf off Front Street in Marion.
